I REALLY like the idea of the Raiders config, with ToD length. Sounds like a great alternative to a Carhartt. This sounds like an awesome deal. Way to go, Peter!

Yes,the jacket is lined. It replicates the ROLA authentic cotton/satin with two inside pockets. Available in standard sizes 38"-48". Special sizes may be possible on request. This will be replacing the cotton jacket which I will put on clearance with some goat jackets I also have.

Looks like you hit the nail on the head with this one, Peter, and I look forward to seeing more pics of this jacket. Do I read correctly that the denim Indy will have a satin lining or a cotton lining or a combination? Is there a choice on the lining? I would think that a full cotton lining would make more sense on a machine washable jacket, especially if it's denim.

I agree with bink in regards to the lining. I've had bad luck with my Wested satin lining and I am not really wanting a jacket with satin sleeves. Is it possible to get a full cotton lining? I may have to postpone ordering one of these until they ARE available with a full cotton lining.

Yeah, all cotton would be the way to go with a machine washable jacket.

Yea, I also vote for a cotton lining. Considering this would be a warm-cool weather jacket, cotton would make more semse anyway.

When I first saw the subject, I thought, "Good Lord NO, Peter." But not realizing it was a BROWN denim, I was pleasantly surprised by the picture I saw. May some day in the future I can get one. I wore my cloth brown one at work today because it gets so cold in the office. I could see myself wearing this one too.

...Which is why a number of us are asking if it can be done with a cotton only lining. I'm hoping it's early enough in the design/production stage that we can convince Peter a full cotton lining would be the way to go on these jackets, though we'll have to wait for him to chime in on that one.

Heck, I say no lining at all!

I'd be happy without a lining if there was still a way to have an inside pocket.

I don't believe it would hold up very well in the wash. My satin lining didn't even hold up to wear.

Maybe line the body of the jacket and leave the sleeves unlined.

My sleeves are as new, remember I bought mine a few hours after you bought yours, the body however is worn through at the pockets and at the edges of the bottoms of the vents, I'm going to get a cotton body and satin sleeves put in soon. I wear mine a lot. .

Most satin products are labeled as Dry Clean Only as far as I have
seen.

None of my wifes satin clothes can be washed in the washing machine.

I guess you could probably wash it if you used a product like Woolite
or similar, and only washed it in the sink.

But I would think the satin would get pretty beat up in the wash, and
I don't think you would want to dry it in the dryer.

I like the idea of an all cotton lining though. That would be nice, and
I would not be afraid to wash that in the washer.

Ah ok.

Well I got to see the denim proto yesterday. The cut is very much like that on the recent worn look jackets. Slim fitting and slightly longer in the body. The pockets do not look small in person. It has relatively shallow pleats about 1.5 in. It's a smart looking jacket.

Peter has taken on board the comments here and start making them all cotton (make sure you ask for all cotton!).

On a side note, Peter has some light weight nylon lining which he believes will be much stonger than the satin, if anyone wants to go this route you can enquire about nylon (for the custom leather jackets not the denim ones).

I wore my USW goatskin jacket in San Antonio heat a few weeks ago and it wasn't bad at all.

I saw this jacket in person Tuesday --- fantastic look to it!

I attempted to order this jacket from Wested's website, but their figures don't add up.

Their quoted price is $77.46, plus $30.34 for shipping, which comes to $107.80.

But the sub-total at checkout is $91.02 plus $30.34 for shipping, which adds up to $121.36.

What is the added $13.56 charge for? Is this the customs duty?

Everything I have read including Peter's statement says the jacket will sell for $90 + or - depending on rates.

I get that $77.46 figure when I add the jacket to the cart and press the U.S. flag to convert pounds to dollars-- it's the very first figure at the top. Perhaps Peter could clear this up, if he reads this? I really just want the correct amount.

Hi there, the converter widget is giving you a false price. The current exchange rate for pound to US dollars is about 2 dollars for every pound. The 90 dollar figure would be correct.

I've noticed no one has mentioned it nor are there any pics of them on the wested website... Does it come with side-straps? I know it says it is the Raiders cut with TOD length but there are no pictures of side-straps and I know they always garner discussions here. Anyone know?

I'm sure it does, though you're right, no photos to prove it.

But, since it is based on the same patterns as the original cloth jacket, and that DID come with side straps, action pleats, etc, just like the leather version... I think it's safe to assume this is exactly the same jacket, just made from different material.
