OK OK! Here's one of me in my lid taken on Sunday at the horsey event we were photographing. AND it's a profile shot, which you know I hate:



Hat performed great in the hot weather. Surprisingly cool and still unfathomably comfortable.

What exactly is hot over there? 110 heat index here!

fatwoul, that is definitely a beautiful profile on that hat....one of the better ones i've seen on an akubra. good job on that crown.

You know how in the winter you have to reduce temperature to account for wind chill? I have to increase temperature to account for the fact I'm getting fatter by the second.

How hot was it? Hot enough that my camera strap ended up pretty soaked. Take off the fat factor and you'll probably find it was about 27C, but that's really just a guess.

Praise indeed. Thanks! Do you guys see what I mean now, about how the shape of the brim is the same, just much more exaggerated, in my spinning hat dealy?

Oh, and I've managed to finally shift the remnants of the original crease down the centre of the crown. I used a small sponge, with a little water on it, and I brushed the felt left to right across the mark - so perpendicular to the crease. Once the mark wasn't visible anymore, I used the sponge front-back along the centre dent and the felt looked natural again. Seemed to work a treat.

I must have missed this one. Yes, a fence, waiting for the horses to walk through a ford in front of us. We saw a mink in the water while we were waiting, and I just kept thinking about whether mink fur would work in hat felt.

I said that to my sister at the time, but I suspect one mink Be enough. Not for a hat for a human, anyway. It might make enough felt for a hat for another mink, but I think the irony would be lost on the creature.

I know it's kinda creepy isn't it? Three hats all staring at you. I tell you, I wouldn't like to be Chewy, or G-MANN, or any of these people with dozens of hats. It would freak me out too much, them all following me around the room.

Well, I meant the hats, but yes, those guys following me around would be a bit spooky too.

OK, it took a little longer than I'd like, but I finally got round to doing H-D's AB animation:



It goes up and down a little because I aligned the images centrally to make them as space-efficient as possble (because I wanted to make this one larger), but I think it works alright.

Thanks - it wasn't too bad, because most of it was one colour. Good choice resting the hat on a glass - making the object the hat rests on smaller can really help if the underside of the hat is included at any point.

Alright, I wasn't gonna say anything, but I can't contain myself. That Akubra Dix looks like toffee. In fact, you made my buy an Akubra Dix instead of standard. Hope my bash turns out as well as yours.
