Go
there, create an account, log in, upload your pictures to your account using the boxes provided. Under each picture you'll see four different links. Use the bottom one "IMG Code". Copy and paste that into your posts and away you go.
If you need any more specific help PM me.
I'm in!

Hey Dan - I hope you changing the title of this thread to "N More" doesn't end up diluting it to include other hats. I want more pictures of Camptowns in here! Stat!
Fatwoul: There, I changed it once more to clarifiy that this is our thread.
IndyCop: Unfortunately I have a hard time describing how to do something the just feels second nature. There are a couple of Bashing an Indy hat sites out there that give one a good step by step on the hat shape.
There was one out there hat I learnd it from but I think the site is no longer up. I think it was Johnny Jones.
This one will do the trick I think. Just click on the tutorial and follow the steps.
http://aeris.adventure-realm.com/raidershatrabbit.html
From there you just have to sort of mess with it until you get what you like out of it. I know mine isn't finished yet & I've had mine for some time now.
Cheers!

To get the snap brim and sort of that smile to the brim from the front I followed JohnNdy's tutorial, although it doesn't exist any more. Basically after he put the curl in the back of the brim he steamed it and then folded the two sides up against the crown like a taco. He added a little felt stiffener to the brim and set heavy objects on either side of the hat and then let it set for several hours. then all he did was snap the front and rear down in the distinctive dip we all see in the front & back, and voila, a snap brim.
It's fairly hard for me to describe without pictures & I wish his tutorial site was still around because he did a better job of describing it along with the pictures. I should have printed the dang site out.
Anyway that is basically the gist of the snap brim, it worked on my Fieldmaster fairly well even though I didn't go for the full on swoop in my brim and didn't use the stiffener in it because it basically had enough hold in it.
I hope that sort of explains it a bit. If you give this a try please post some pictures of your attempts & progress for others to see.
Cheers!
Dan

I've got my 7 year old on UPS watch! Whenever ups delivers something to my house its always around 6pm. Since I am working this week through Wed. she is supposed to let me know if they deliver. I am hoping to get my federation in the next couple of days so I can start sweating the arrival of my camptown!
Then i have to come up with some kinda way to store/display them. I may create a shelf above the closet doors just for hats, I dunno know.

That hat looks great on you, SantaDan!
I like the richness of the color, too.
A Camptown is the next hat on my list when I have expendable funds. (AB number four is somewhere in progress, but I like a variety of hats from different makers.
)

Congratulations Dan!
It looks great!
What are your thoughts on the Fieldmaster and your dealings with Ken?
Bink, it's ok, make the leap. I can't wait for my Metropolitan to show up!
Cheers!

Well, guys, I'll gladly take the leap if you pay my rent this month. That, or find me a permanent job that pays a decent wage. (Freelance and temp work is so inconsistent.) What was that? You guys are going to send me every penny of your paychecks? You guys are swell.

fatwoul, I believe Ken means that shipping times for hats may be a little unpredicatble due to taking care of his son and family at the moment. (Here's the thread for those who wonder

Oh, gotcha. "OT' meaning "Off Topic." Ken wasn't so sure if it was fitting enough for the Fedora Section. Maybe I should move it to the Vendor Section.

Dan, I bought my hat from Ken right when things started going sideways for him. He said he had a 7 5/8 then when he thought he did not he offered me a Metro at a VERY good price with the Fieldmaster to arrive when he could get around to it. [had I known then what I know now I would have jumped on it BUT I did not think I had a need for a gray hat, now that I hang on Fedora lounge too, well it is a whole new ball game.]
He did have the 7 5/8 hat and was kind enough to bash it for me and I love the hat. Even with the things he has had going on he always answered my emails in a timely manner, I will do business again.
I want a gray with the same top bash instead of the teardrop then go one side up, one down and back up, like the thin man [the ONLY thing I will be able to compare myself to is the hat

Lawyer jokes, eh? Hat bashing not sufficient.
BTW: That's 40 billable hours a day, for the non-creative attorney. Eighty (80) hours for the innovative.
Ken makes an outstanding hat. Dos, it looks great on your noggin.

he's my hero, especially when he gets to give Myrna Loy a lip lock. I read some where that she was described as the only "good" girl in Hollywood and they gave her all the "bad girl" parts. they also talked about a married actor that tried to kiss her and she totally refused his advances.
