Sorry, rbxb, that does NOT address the concerns I've posted in the QC string. Mine have been the recent items that have come out of the shop that appeared to have been made by an apprentice....not a craftsman. That can NOT be addressed in any way, shape or form by anything placed on a website order form, official or otherwise.

Hopefully the offer Peter made here to Tech will solve this particular problem, but please don't lump the QC concerns with this one. It's a different set of problems all together than those being addressed there. I've been directly involved with Peter and Wested for over a decade now, and I hold them to a higher standard that what has arrived at my house of late, and I really want him to take a hard look at what is going out in his name. That's all.

Maybe the Shakespearian quote 'Familiarity breeds contempt!' figures into his dealings with me now. I sure hope not, but proof to the contrary is hanging in my closet at home.

Michaelson,
My freind, I respect your thoughts.
Your experience supercedes my casual interest.
We're on the same page in that we want the quality fit & finish that we pay for.
Remember, I've got a Wested Auth Lamb Raiders hopefully coming across on the plane this week)................................I wait on pins & needles with baited breath.

Well, rest assured, when Wested is on it's game, they can not be beat. Period.

For a start it was not his order but an order made by his wife with a different email.
Further most of his emails were not replied to as they were not received,
If you read his demands I should have refunded straight away, but he seemed so nice on the phone I wanted to please.
I do not need this, instead of contactng me to sort it out he has chosen to make a big issue on the COW which WILL make me think twice about making these special requests.
Last Year I sent out more than 2000 indy jackets with many complimentary replies unfortunately they rarely reach the COW only the complaints.
Technonut please follow our return details and return the jacket for a full refund including postage.
I would be obliged if this post could be locked as it going nowhere only causing animosity which we do not need and is not in the spirit of Indygear.
Cheers
Peter

To Peter: Please don't stop accepting special requests just because 0.1% is not satisfied. You can never satisfy everybody.
And it is not fair that we all suffer because of the few. We have lots of custom orders coming in. I am personally preparing two.

What I want to say is that the fact that you take these special requests is magnificent and one of the main reasons that you are the no1 Indy jacket maker.

I am looking for a job in England these days, I hope I can meet you there.

I agree with Platon, please don't stop allowing customisations due to a few very vocal people.

What everyone forgets is that for most businesses a return rate of 5% is considered normal. Products are made by people and there will be occasional mishaps.

Internet forums tend to concentrate and amplify that 5% and blow them out of proportion.

However, there are a few people here with definate errors that ought to be addressed, Eg, Michaelson and Tone's Jackets, but that of course is none of my business.

Peter, if there are certain mods that are really too much of a pain to keep tabs on and are just "Not Available" I think you should list them on your site to stop people continually asking for them and being disappointed when they don't get them, even though they are not offered in the first place.

PS, you could always employ Platon as a QA checker, pay rate of 1 jacket a week. :)

Yes, my Wife ordered the jacket for me with her CC... What difference does that make? :?

As for my "demands", anyone can see that they were requests, and I feel that I was polite in communicating those requests. The only "custom" requests that I made other than sizing was for reinforced stitching, (which I was informed was already done, and I spoke no more of it) The Right-handed zipper, and "Made For" tag. (which is an order option)

To give credit where credit is due, the goatskin, although I was not expecting it, is a very fine, high-quality leather. I just got stoked-up over the horsehide, since I thought that was what I was getting. During that time, I looked at forum member pics of their HH jackets, and was glad that the goatskin was not available...

I was not happy with the sleeve seams... As I explained, I have not seen seams that practically lay on the center of my forearms. I collect leather jackets, and have not seen seams like this on my Aero, Gibson & Barnes, U.S. Wings, etc.. jackets....

I do not appreciate being painted as a "customer from h*ll".... The primary problem in this situation was a lack of communication from your company.... Even if a few of my e-mails did not get through, enough did, and were replied to, to have made this whole problem unnecessary.

If posting my experience with ordering from your company causes changes in your website ordering system, better communication, and a leveled system of jacket options and customizations, I personally think it is a good thing, and hopefully will benefit others in their jacket quest....

Agreed, Technonut.

Also agreed that this string is going no where now, as Peter has stated 'he doesn't need this'. You may as well either try and sort out things offline, or do what I did and just give up.

What's this, PLATON, coming from a guy who posted he's going to burn all his Wested jackets with a jerry can of gas if Peter doesn't get your next jacket pocket shape right? Make up your MIND, man!!
