You can take some brown shoe polish, a "Q"-tip, and some Pecards or
any other type of leather dressing, and you can fix that scrape, or any
others you get, very easily.

First, take the "Q" tip, and rub it in the shoe polish in order to get a nice
bit of the shoe polish on it.

Then, rub the shoe polish into the scrape pretty hard. Make sure you
get the shoe polish all nice and rubbed into the scrape.

Then, take some more shoe polish on the same end of the "Q" tip, but
this time, rub it in softly, directly over top of the first application of the
shoe polish.

Then, take the other, clean side of the "Q tip, and put some Pecards, or your favorite type
of leather dressing, on it, and gently rub that over the spot. You want to
get a nice heavy application of the leather dressing on top of the shoe
polish. DO NOT RUB IT IN HARD. JUST APPLY IT LIGHTLY, BUT THICK!

Let that sit overnight.

In the morning, take a nice clean cotton towel or old tee-shirt, and rub
the excess leather dressing off of the jacket. This will also help to blend
in the shoe polish.

You are done!! Not only have you hidden the scraped spot, but protected it
as well.

I have done this to every leather jacket I have ever had, and it has
worked every single time for me! I have used it on Lambskin, goatskin,
cowhide, bullalo hide, and even my Aero B-3 shearling jacket, and all
have come out with great results!!

Hope this helps. Its still not right that your jacket was damaged. But if
it fits perfectly in every way, I would fix the spot rather than send it back
for another one. Why? Because you run the risk of the next one not
being as perfect fitting as this one!!

This is, to my knowledge, the only incident where something like this has happened with a wested, so I wouldn't be worrying about it unnessecarily.

In fact, we should be tipping our hats to Peter for changing the shipping companies--some of you will remember the PBS (or something like that) Global, they used to send 3 or 4 invoices for the same packet.

You say that but if it were yours you'd worry, I'd be pretty mad if a company damaged a 300 jacket.
