Oh, well, compared to an Akubra, ALL my AB's have been soft right out of the box. This gray, though is even softer.

Wow. This is the first I've seen of the gray AB. Very, very nice, my friend.

Goodness me. I thought I was going to fall off of my chair when I saw those pics.
Firstly, the hat looks incredible and it's very nice to see it in grey. Secondly, you look incredibly handsome in the suit and it goes incredibly well with the hat. Thirdly. It's great to see an Adventurebilt fedora shaped into the Last Crusade look.
Thank you so much, my dear. Your comments are very much appreciated.
Thank you, Railok.

Thanks Pal, I appreciate that! I love this shot as well. I only wish I had a better backdrop; that CVS bag is out of place!
Thank you, Flattery!
And Michaelson, I thought it was Grown!???

Absolutely!
The point is, this hat definitely 'explains' the confusion to the color. It can be worn with either a blue OR brown suit with complete confidence. I wore it with my black suit at D.Jones wedding! Really neat color, and VASTLY different than his standard dark gray.
High regards! Michaelson

I also think this hat solves the brown/gray riddle.

I beat it look excellent with a black suit. I just tried it on with my Wested to see whether I could pull it off and you know what? -It looks really good, especially with the taupe pants. The color of this hat is close to the taupe color of the pants. It is very versatile.

Not trying ti hijack the thread, because this thread is all about HJ's awesome new hat.
I wanted to try and show the softness of this felt. And I like to show my hat when I can.
Here's the brim with me just shaping in multiple ways.
The one in the bottom left is one of my new favorites.

Actually, I thought mine was more of a grayish brown.....
Are you talking about your hair or your hat?
The scoundrel is strong in this one. Join me and together we can rule the--- eh, on second hand, I want the whole pie to myself.
Hemingway, I really think this needs to be the hat I save up for next. If it goes just as well with a dark blue suit as it does with the Wested, then the versatility is a nice factor, indeed, nevermind that it's an AdventureBilt!

Hey Daniel,
Thanks! Yes, the photo is pretty close. It is a nice light gray that goes well with both brown and blue. I highly recommend it.

Hem, that is an amazing hat, and it has officially pushed me over into the 'saving for a new Ab' mode. I especially like the slightly narrower brim and shorter crown that LC is famous for. I've got about 3 jars that I'm saving up into, I have to be less of a consumer

Man I can definetly tell the difference between my rabbit felt and your beaver prairie! I can even see how thin it is and how pliable it is in comparison. Also the my hat seems a much darker brown than yours. I wonder if thats just the lighting or if rabbit really is darker.

Thanks Guy! The other problem is trying to figure out which hat to bring to the QM!
I really like this LC look, more than I thought I would. It is the perfect dress hat and much less 'outback' if you will, than the Raiders hat. I think I now want one in brown! It never ends.

Actually, I've heard Steve say the the rabbit is a bit lighter than the beaver. It may just be the lighting. Of course the color may vary from batch to batch.

Exactly!! And it drives me nuts!! The last run of rabbit was darker than the beaver. With that said, the beaver that I have been getting is great in the color/shade department. All except the extra large bodies(used for hats 7 3/4 and above) I am told by other hatters this is normal as different runs of fur takes the dye differently. But, it makes me want to pull my hair out. Fedora

Hemingway,
I love that hat. Now I must save my pennies. As for your dog---beautiful. I have always liked Dalmations. I friend of mine just adopted one from a rescue, her owners were gonna put her down because she was deaf. I kills me cause she is the sweetest dog I have ever met.

Snake,
Thanks for the compliments. Dalmatians are sweet, but they are high maintenance dogs. I would never put a dog down just for a hearing problem. It was great of your friends to rescue it.
