Ford's hat does look somewhat turned when you look at it a particular way.
I do not intentionally turn my hat. If I get slapped around by a couple of Nazi's and the hat turns, so be it! Other than that, I prefer to let nature take it's course.
I really respect the opinions of everyone here. I like to hear the different points of view. Being screen accurate is a great pursuit but I like to see variety and personalization in Indy gear. Personally, I have no intention of turning my fedoras. I have to agree with Bogie on this issue. Now let us all turn or not turn in peace.
My take on it is this, bash straight and wear it turned to get the swoop, if you like. If you you want screen accuracy, turn away ! If you want a hat you'll look good in, maybe turn, maybe no. I look silly with a turn, myself.
-In case you didn't follow my link-. The bump on my hat is two old front pinches right next to each other. Does anyone think the exact same artifact is there on the Raiders hat? ....Remember, I got this feature in my hat before I even saw this movie still.
Hey Melty Man - would you say that's old front pinches there on that film Raiders hat above? ......... And, you need to bend the right side brim up. Here's Ford folding his brim up against the crown. A tight hat helps to keep it up also.
He's also pinching the front of the brim there with his left hand. This helps put a bend in the brim just to the right of his right eye. This bend helps keeps the brim up. Cheers! ...Brilliant!...and so on.
