I don't know about the US made cowhide, but the SL US made LONGS haven't been started by Roz. Maybe they'll be starting this week! \:D/ Maybe Michaelson knows the up to date info?

Nope. I get the same occasional alerts that Dawg gets, and no 'inside' information as to what is or is not in stock, per-se.

I know David posted before Christmas that the cowhide regulars were instock, but nothing was posted about longs at that time.

Roz and I was talking Fri. and She said that She would start cutting SL .. Cow and Bison in longs in one to two weeks.. When we do a run the min. is 125 and the major problem is supply of leather ! I remember last summer we made 10 Indy-Style Cow size large with extra long arms.. we still have 8 un sold.. I am not saying that will happen again but Reg. size comes first and longs are last on the list and there is a major shortage of leather and I have a strong feeling we have not seen nothing yet! Like Roz said She will start cutting longs that are on order this month But I doubt we will see a lot of extra longs in stock... It will be first come First serve! I would make sure you are on the list with Myke.

Glad to hear a bunch more shipping out tomorrow/Wednesday, Sarge! Hoping mine is amongst them, and that a medium will be the right fit for me. [-o<

I wish I could say I can't wait, but since we've been waiting for a while now (and it always feels longer when you WANT something), erm... I guess I have been able to wait so far! Will post picts when I can.

I found a few old avirex antique lambskin jacket pictres and I thought I would show you how cool your striated lambskin will age. the avirex antique striated lambskin is the same as the legend lambskin.

dang man! just LOOK at it. look at the drape. coolest leather I have ever seen. and I think it must be one of the toughest lambskins out there if not THE toughest... I't just screams to be worn and worn hard.

Though keep in mind it's not an antique/genuine A-2, but a modern repro "interpretation." Still, the leather looks cool.

either way the patina or what ever method they used to age it looks great. I love the lighter elements on it. I can only hope mine does the same thing. :TOH:

Well, she showed up today...

For once, the hype has lived up to my expectations. \:D/ What sold me from the start were the pics Weston posted way back when... I've been thinking all along that it wouldn't look like that. I've been proven wrong. My own pics are soon to follow.

Well, I might as well post the rest. For a bunch of off-the-cuff shots (pun intended), I think these turned out pretty well. I've posted a couple "accidental" shots too -- I think they really capture the look of the jacket well.

Looks fantastic Dragonlady!!

I'll second what Holt said.....I love the way these jackets seem to do the 'ride forward' thing over the shoulders where the front of the jacket is lower than the back....Very Raiders!!

Holt: You got yours yet?

Got mine!

I sent Sarge an email the mintue I unpacked it. words are not there to describe the feeling I had when unpacing this baby. it's an XL and it's a perfect fit. I am SO glad I did not go with a Large. I would have looked like a sausage. XL is the perfect fit for me. perfect raiders fit.

thanks bud.

pecards only.

at first I thought about running it thru the washing machine if it was too big... but you know, it fits SO good I will not take the chance of ruining this wonderfull jacket. this jacket has sentimental value to me. Michaelson knows.

I'd take the lead from G-MANN and leave it alone. His is naturally distressing VERY nicely, and in fairly short order, and beautifully too!

Your best bet is to be BURIED in that jacket when the time comes, my friend. :rolling:

As I stated in the other thread, don't let the leather fool you. Some of the panels are prone to tearing.

Cheers,
G-MANN

Just wanted to add...I'm not complaining I snagged it on a twig. So my fault. I am no stranger to this type of leather as I have had 2 other jackets made from the same Lambskin over the years.

I had the same happening to a cowhide jacket. I think this can happen to all leather jackets as they are just a skin...

edit:

I just went over al the panels nd they all feel the same thickness. I mean, it feels even thicker then my horsehide jacket...

Aye, the leather seems pretty consistent in the thickness of the panels, but the softness seems to vary..

Indyzane,

Thanks but it's not a problem. It's only about 1/4" and just adds to the look. On an older jacket made out of this same leather I got about a 3" rip in the sleeve. That's why I wanted to warn folks about the possibilities of tearing on the softer panels.
