Yes it is just looped back through under both parts of the buckle. I like this look better as the side straps aren't so long.

Hey guys! I was hoping you could help me figure out what size jacket I should get. Now, I know "Use the search engine". Well, I have. I've come back to you know with a lot of info about the jacket and two answers:

I've read several times that the jacket sizing is perfect and I should order what I normally order (A medium).
Second, I've read they run small, so I should order a size up.
I figured I'd order a Medium B, but now I think I need to order a Large.
Maybe you guys could help me out. I wear a 39 Long to a 40 Long suit jacket, I wear medium everything, but I'm kind of tall (6'1). I'm not big, because I've slimmed down a bit.
My dress shirt size is 16x34. What else to help you help me....

The sizing guide has gone down on Todd's new website, so I can't depend on that for help, and I don't want to bother Todd if somewhere here knows what I should get.
So COW guys, what should it be? Best guess is appreciated!

With your height I would say that you need at least a Large. I'm 5'9" and have a medium that fits me almost perfectly. I think being 6'1" a medium would just be way too short on you.

4 7/8th inches on the right and 5 inches on the left.

Glad to see those numbers I bought a jacket there over the weekend and the measurements page is nowhere to be found.
I ordered a large. I'm about 6' 1/2" with a 44" chest and 34" waist. I hover in the 190s for weight. LOOKS like I got the right size but I suppose we'll find out

I´m was reading this thread "the other day" and e-mailed to Todd about his jacket,the answers suprised me.He told me my size which is XLarge and gave me few dimensions from XLarge jacket and to be honest they seem,to me at least,um...odd!? According to the pics the jacket looks "roomier" around the shoulders.BTW;How does the jacket look zipped-up while wearn? I´m 6´1",44" chest,36" waist.Can somebody (my size)confirm these either false or true!?

My jacket arrived today. Size Large.. like I mentioned, I have a 44" chest and 34" waist 72.5" (or 72.75" on a good day) tall.

Gotta say, though... I'm a little bit surprised about the fit.
Don't get me wrong, I think it looks like a great fit on you... but I tried on a Size Large Todd's once before and it fit me very snug - and I'm about a 42" chest.
...Of course, I'm also NO expert on the jacket's Todd offers, so it's possible there have already been threads dedicated to how perhaps the fit of these jackets has changed... Either way, as I said it looks like a perfect fit on you!

I'd also be curious to see it zipped-up a little bit on you, though... any chance of someday seeing a few photos like that?

XXL-A was a great fit and if you notice the chart, it is smaller than the XL.

Yes, that XXLA was the one to get for people in my size (44 Reg). I have an XL and always wonder if it's too big. Seeing these pics makes me think I may get away with a large.

it feels good. I have a Wilsons ( not Indy obviously ) large that has slightly less room inside.

Beginning to fell the same way. I have had my XL for about two years and I am beginning to think a Large would fit me better.

The fit is great on that one d_jedi1 and I also like how you slipped the Enterprise D amongst your wife's decorative plates on the cabinets!

I still say for the money Todd's Standard jacket can not be beat.

Mitch you are right, things changed with his jackets. A change that (in my opinion) took good and made it better. I have a early-run 2008 Small and a 2009 (what was then labeled) Medium + and there are several night and day (for the better) differences in the jacket; in leather, fit and construction.

d_Jedi, nice jacket, enjoy wearing it. Since we're talking about your kitchen too, the Bombay Sapphire is pretty sweet. Enjoy that as well.

Lol yeah the Enterprise-D is up there.. it has an in-scale TOS Enterprise mounted on the stand underneath it.
The Bombay Sapphire was good but I need to buy more. She liked the blue of the bottle as it matched (more or less) with her other bottles up there.

What I like in the second picture is Indy is looking at it like, "what the heck kind of artifact is that thing on the top shelf?..." Clearly it holds some sort of special significance in the preparation of meals. And what is this thing, a "replicator". Sounds interesting.

Really an exceptional fit. I have a large that I like very much but I'd love a bit more length in the sleeves, but not at the expense of adding to the body. Yours looks custom made for you.

I keep a little "one ring" in my car hanging from the rear-view mirror (it came with a bookmark) so the precious thing wouldn't be too far off mark for me

I had a little time today to put some more pics up. I may have exceeded my limit on this thread, if I have, I'm sure someone will let me know. I have a question. Today I just purchased Todd's standard jacket, in the size Medium B. I am about 5' 6'' with a very, very slender frame weighing only about 120 lb. Now did I make the right sizing choice for myself.

If you looked at the measurements and compared them to something you already own, you may be happy.

If you are not happy, he's got a pretty good return policy (or did at one time).

Thanks. I just heard around here that one should order a size larger than they normally wear when it comes to these jackets. I told Todd my height and weight, hoping that would help, and he recommended the Medium B for me. This size sounds rather large for me, judging by the measurement chart, but I took his word on it and ordered that size. I just wanted to see if this sounded right to everyone else here though, because I am starting to have second thoughts on the sizing.

If you asked Todd directly and gave him your measurements, I'd go with what Todd recommended. After all, he should know the fit of his own jackets.

I just received a Todds standard and I was just wondering if Todd discontinued the inside pocket? Mine doesn't have one.

No inside pocket? Hmm... Maybe he discontinued it or the factory that makes the jackets forgot about it. I would email Todd to see what's up.

I received my Todd's standard in size medium B, but had to send it back for an exchange for a small because it fit way too large on me. I recently received my replacement and I absolutely love it! The leather is lightweight, very soft and the fit is terrific in comparison to my Wested. Here are a few pictures I took to show all of you.

I think that looks like a pretty great Raiders jacket and a pretty perfect fit for you!

The sleeves are, of course, starting out a wee bit "long-ish", but as has been well documented in the past, they will likely get a little bit shorter over time simply from your own arm creases developing from regular use.

Congratulations on this fine jacket... you must be thrilled!

Good slim fit jackets that only get better with age. Give it a good leather lotion treatment and watch how the folds and creases will fade away, adds body to the leather. The last photo is reminiscent of the trek to the temple jacket, map read.

It seemed only right to post today, seeing that I'm in a hotel opposite Todd's costumes, waiting for the man himself to open up shop (and hoping he does!). Came out to cali last minute for work and had to drive from LA to san fran so I thought why not make a stop here and try them on in store?

I like this jacket a lot, but the leather seems just way too thin to stand up against anything. I am almost afraid to wear it out like I did my wested in fear of it ripping or the stitching popping.

Trust me dude, you don't have to baby it. Lamb is a lot tougher than it feels, and the stitching should hold just fine, my last one did, and stayed so fresh it was still practically 'new' when I passed it on.

I did get a jacket! Had a great visit (technically two, I'm back at Pine Mountain now!) Todd is a great guy, very helpful and was totally patient with my incessant questions Thanks Todd!

I'll make a new post about my visit, with pictures, once I have time to take some decent pics. I also bought a hat, which I'll detail in the hat thread. Y'all may be surprised at my hat choice.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy your jacket, just ask Weston. His has served him well for years, from what I gather!

My jackets are both still going strong and they get just about daily, 3/4-year wear. I recently had to have my tailor fix my original jacket (purchased in Feb. 2008) where the right rear strap attaches to the back panel.

For work, I carry Maratac Bail Out Bag holding a 17"-laptop, CAT-5 cables, tools, CDs, other various electronic bits/parts, and Sigg water bottle; in total, it all weighs in at about 20 pounds. One day, I was leaving a service call and as I was putting it on my shoulder, the bottom corner of the bag got hung up on the jacket's right adjustment strap. Being in a hurry I forced the bag down and evidently that action tore the panel. I never noticed the tear until days later, when I hung the jacket on a coat hook.

Anyway, the tear was on the back panel, about an inch on the top and left side of the strap's attachment point, exactly following the edges where the strap attaches to the panel. My tailor said it would be an easy fix and she stuck some denim into the jacket's body (for reinforcement) and stitched it all back up to where I can't even tell it was repaired. In explaining it all to the tailor she made the observation that just about any material would have acted about the same, given the circumstances and the jacket's design.

In summary: if the jacket's construction could hold up a 20+ pound bag until its impatient owner put more weight on it and slightly tore it, then in most everyday wear and situations it should be fine.
