Re: HOLT'S MYSTERY OF THE BLUES* Builders thread
Well while it's not chunky, it does feel comfortable.
Here's some with the new smaller buttons required, I could have asked the seamstress if she could've open
the button holes up to accommodate the 25mm button, which is more correct.
Maybe in the warmer weather.
First picture I'm wearing two scarfs, on right is the camel from eBay and on left is the Alpacas wool in a taupe like color, it's hard to see the difference, other than the wool be slightly darker.

This shot is in the basement under LED lighting, you can see the difference, but out in the light, not so much.

And here's some with the new scarf and buttons.

It was over cast and slightly rain, sorry I didn't get to ironing out the folds, so un-Indy.
Over all, with this Cardigan and where the collar stays in where I want it, unlike the Vaboom, which kinda drove me nutty.
It'll be awhile before I can take any more pictures as I just had Achilles Tendon surgery
But I'll be take some more with the white stuff on the ground soon, all to soon.
I'm wearing my KotCS Fedora, DoD jacket, LC Azuma shirt, IM Officers tie, Karolina wool officer paints, my MothB gloves and Joe Strain whip, oh and my new LL Bean cardigan with new scarf.
Holt, thank you for inspiration.

Re: HOLT'S MYSTERY OF THE BLUES* Builders thread
Thanks guys, now to wear the shirt and tie to work, not something normally done in a lumber store.
But I did once for DoD opening weekend, so It'll get some looks and comments, but know one but a gear head would recognize the set up.
Holt, I'm curious on your thoughts to the scarf, not a home run, but I do side on the camp that the scarf isn't so light colored.
As far as adventures, well not for 10 weeks or so, unless you would say crawling through the frozen tundra a thing.

Re: HOLT'S MYSTERY OF THE BLUES* Builders thread
I like the way the buttons look. I think the 25mm's would be too big for this sweater. Maybe go to a 23mm if you're really desperate.
And I think the darker scarf is to camel'ly (brown)
The lighter one I think is closer, maybe a bit too light, but bad.
Don't forget, we're comparing these to lowish rescreen grabs ,and everyone's computer is not going to match, I guarentee

The gear all looks great! Wishing you a speedy recovery from your surgery.
Re: HOLT'S MYSTERY OF THE BLUES* Builders thread
My thoughts on the scarf but first Dalex's is right, we are all comparing grainy screen stills on different ipads and phones. So colors are difficult to nail. However, if you want my 2 cents, I think you need to find a more greyer brown scarf. Its alittle difficult color to nail hence why I have way to many scarfs hanging around. Its a kinda grey/brown/purply tinted scarf. More towards grey.
Taupe is the best word of course but there are so many taupes to choose from..... Yeah, Im not helping am I.
Other than that, digging the look.
Speedy recovery! We need you back on your feet before winter time is here. Lots of snow shoveling will be needed to be done in gear.
Just call Dalexs if your unable to shovle some snow. He loves doing the work. he doesnt mind. Its all good!

Thank you Canyon. Working on it.
Regarding color of the scarf you see on the ol television, yes you’ll never get an exact match, but for me the darker taupe looks better and this is what I see.
MotB is all about the cardigan to me, the scarf is just another layer to the gear he’s wearing.
Like the cardigan, I’ll keeping looking.

Hey, those buttons even look good on mini props!
My wife wanted to borrow a few for a baby sweater she was making for as a gift
Now if I can just get her to make me a full size SA cardigan

Re: HOLT'S MYSTERY OF THE BLUES* Builders thread
I might’ve missed it, but was there a link for the scarf?
Re: HOLT'S MYSTERY OF THE BLUES* Builders thread
Hmmm no, I dont believe so. The scarfs Ive found have just been one offs etc. Taupe is the color to find. but then again there are about 50 taupe shades... so why not get them all and play it safe!

Re: HOLT'S MYSTERY OF THE BLUES* Builders thread
Cardigan arrived today and I must say that this is THE best Motb sweater Ive seen yet.
Im sure someone at LL Bean designing crew must be an Indy fan cuz this cardigan hits all the boxes we have been searching for.
Amazing.

Well it was snowing today and I tried to take some shots, but the snow really didn't come out as well as Id liked it, probably due to the end of the storm.

Lookin' good, Croft!
I may have lost the thread on this, so forgive me if you're repeating yourself, but where did you find that scarf? That's the piece I'm having the hardest time finding, and yours looks darn close to accurate.

I wore my sweater to a superbowl party last night, quite nice, but after all of this I still haven’t swapped the buttons on it!

And your the one who bought em, to funny. But they do make the cardigan.
Indiana Jon, the scarf may not be accurate, but it looks perfect to my eyes, there can be so many variations or opinions on color.
The color is Taupe, lots of shades of Taupe.
But I took a page from Holts book, kept looking on the evil bay and for me I found the one, others are to tan.
From Peru, alpaca wool from a company Lanificio del Peru.
Thanks Holt, the cardigan is longer than I like, but it’s works better with my Cockpit leather jacket.
Have you changed out the buttons yet

Re: HOLT'S MYSTERY OF THE BLUES* Builders thread
Croft,
Your scarf looks accurate to me. Mine is way too tan. I guess I'll just keep my eyes on the bay.
Any manufacturer tags on your scarf that might assist me in my quest?
