I was debating on doing the entire jacket but I dont want to shrink it. I will do that with the xl when I get it.

Yes, the uninsulated is still lined (the liner is actually a very nice nylon. Its construction mirrors the shell of the jacket, with pleats in the back and a yoke).
And they are thin jackets, perfect for the warmer days (anything below 65 degrees, and I need to layer to keep warm).

just a couple more pictures of the jacket now that I showered it and let it dry to my shape. the jacket had alot of grain from the start but now she is even more grainy which I love!
and a side shot. think of Indy hanging up his whip after stupido almost fell down the gap.

Cool grain Holt! (I think I'll leave mine, since the size is close and I'm happy with it..)..
And yes, it's now 29 degrees in Tokyo and I'm still wearing mine without much of a problem..Once the humidity kicks in it might be out...But in fresh sunshine it's not that hot at all...And when the sun goes down it's perfectly heated...Very interesting to see in action actually...(I know I
look hot to everyone else though..LOL)

Over the past day I've been spraying mine with water over the rear sholder and upper back area...even draped a wet towel over there. Just about evry bit of snugness in this area has gone.
I'm seriously loving this thing. Never had ANY type of leather jacket that's been as light and wearable.

Finally got some pics taken, so here ther are;
The length in the back fits me perfectly. Don't judge the length by the jeans pockets. I've lost about 20lbs since I bought them and had to hike them up for the photo so I wouldn't look like I'm "saggin'". Although the body length was right, I had to let the sleaves out by 1".
This one is about as close to the true color of the jacket. It can go from a nice chocolatey brown to almost black, depending on the lighting. I think Todd really nailed the color with this leather.
Here's a close up on some of that wonderful grain.
I like this picture as it shows that the jacket is not a form fitting, trim jacket. It is quite roomy, but, the drape of the leather makes it look trim when your arms are down.
And finally, a slightly blurry action shot, just because I wanted to play with my airsoft gun (also purchased from Todd).

Best lookin' Raiders jacket I've ever had! (Best fitting too. I've had customs that didn't fit this well.)

Just wondering why he is not sourcing the same type of leather for the regular run of jackets? Good stuff!

Its just a little too light a hide for my tastes. I'm used to my wested goat and when I wear that, I know I have a leather jacket on. For those wanting a light jacket though, this one will definitely work!

Kwad,
The BW looks great on you! Might I say, even better than the Legend Cowhide which you showed sometime ago.
It's just too bad there's no medium for this jacket. Really love the leather and overall style. Just hoping that Todd might release a medium, even if it's a corrected version and higher price, still a definite keeper.

Thanks Damieneo,
Although the Legend also fits me quite well, it just fits in a totally different way than the Todd's.
I love my Legend. It is a very nice looking, well built jacket, but the Todd's just gives off way more of a "Raiders" vibe.
TS,
The liner feels like nylon to me (just not as polished and satin-ey smooth as the ones used by US Wings).

For those of us who are metric 'dumb', that conversion is about 2.5+ pounds vs 3.8+ pounds.
I'm one of the 'us'. I had to google it.
As CM says, a pretty hefty difference!

Just got mine... one word.. awesome.
I love leather jackets and own several and this one just became my favorite. It is very light...perfect for most year round use, which is nice because all of my others are heavy.
Todd's out did themselves with this offer. If you don't have one, I suggest picking one up before they are gone. One of the best IJ deals you will come across.

Just got my xl, it is not that much larger than the large and actually looks better on me, even tho I have a 43 chest. You guys that are mediums should check out the large. The hide on this one is even nicer than my first Bantu, my first one had nice grain but this one is even heavier with alot of that striated grain. Todd you rock

Hey guys, thinking about buying one of these.
I'm about 6'2" and wear a 44L jacket.
I generally like my clothes to "fit", not baggy, but not tight either.
Should i get the XL or the L?
Need advice from the experts!
Thanks
Sean

Hi Sean,
I am 6'2" and wear a 44L and if you go back a page or so in this thread you will see my photos of me wearing the L and it is too small, so I have ordered an XL which should hopefully be with me in a few days and I will post more photos then, but I would definitely recommend you go for the XL

Obi Sean,
I'm about 4" shorter than you, and the arms on my size Large jacket were just a tad too short (I had to let them out by 1").
I think at 6'2", a size Large would make you look like you were wearing your little brothers jacket.

I soaked the XL in warm water and let it dry in the sun yesterday. It is now barely larger than the L and has achieved an even higher level of awesomeness. Sleeve length is about the same as the L also. Pretty amazing how much it shrunk. All you medium's should seriously consider doing this with a Large. I'll try to get pics up soon.

Wonder how much it would shrink if you added some dryer heat to it, hmmmm.
I recently did this with my US Wings SL, sleeve length is oh so much better.

PS, there was a member selling a L in the Bazzar, wonder if he ever sold it. Anyone know who it was, I'd send a pm his way.

Lots of grain in that jacket, HD. Wet or dry, the best bang for the buck in the forum, all considered.

No doubt, the XL had really nice grain to begin with but the soak and sun treatment just caused the grain to explode. Bang for buck indeed !!!

The XL looks good!
I agree that some of the medium guys should try soaking a large.
I sprayed mine down with a squirt bottle and wore it dry several times and it definately shrank.
I lost .75" in the back and some in the sleeves (not sure how much as the wrinkles took some of the length, but, had to let the sleeves out by 1" after wearing it a week.)
