Well, my jacket is due to arrive by the end of today and I pray that it is a proper fit. I haven't had much luck finding a jacket that fits me properly mainly due to my small size and slender profile. I'll see if I can post some pictures of it tomorrow if not today.

Yup, I got it. I am very happy with it, the overall fit and the distressed leather. I'll post pics of it today for sure, though. I was too tired yesterday when I came out of work to do so.

One thing I forgot to mention was the fact that my pocket flaps have no snap closure. The top piece is there, but not the bottom piece to keep them closed. Is this normal?

I just got a reply from US Wings about the snaps and they said that they are suppose to be there. They gave me the option of either exchanging or having the snaps sent out to me so that I can have a dry cleaners install them. I asked instead for the snaps because to exchange would cost me too much, in terms of shipping.

IMHO, it looks too big. Maybe it's just from the photos?

If they dropped the ball and "missed"putting snaps on, why would they make you pay for shipping? My wife recently had some minor issues with Victoria Secrets products she ordered and they overnighted the correct products and covered all shipping costs to and from.
But aside from more "ickyness" , jacket looks good you. A little big but nothing that won't conform to your build with some wear and tear...enjoy.

Should I have bought the kids extra large version, instead? I was debating between the two and consulted with US Wings whom had recommended the adult size small jacket for me. I guess they didn't realize that I am such a small guy that I can't even fill their size small, slim fitting legend jacket. I'm thinking that I should've bought that kids version because the sleeves of the jacket I have now, I must admit, are rather too wide for me. The body portion feels like a proper fit though, I guess. I really would like to give this jacket a chance and hope that it will shrink some. Any suggestions?

Far too big, I'm afraid, but a nice jacket.
Unless you could really deal with wearing a child's jacket,
your best bet would be a custom job.

If you can foot the shipping try the kids size I think. Or a custom from some one, Wings are often 'generously' sized.

That one does seem to drown you a bit.

It's too wide at the shoulder and too long in the sleeve as a result, sleeves are pretty baggy too.

I'd suggest you send that set of photos directly to David Hack and ask him what HE thinks of the sizing. I bet he recommends going down a size yet again.

Looks big to me too, as well as the fact they left off half of the snaps, that's more than enough reason to send it back for replacement.

It's a nice looking jacket but the other COW members are right, it's too big on you.
As Michaelson perfectly said, you have enough reasons to send it back for a replacement.

Hey Bdgsi11,

I'm glad my pics had something to do with you wanting this jacket, but I agree that it looks too big. My daughter has a Kids Legend size small, and I can tell you that it has all the same details as the adult jacket, as well as materials and hardware (her jacket actually even has a nicer lining than mine!). The only difference I see is that the yoke seam and sleeve seams are aligned on the Kids jackets, and they are misaligned on the Adult jacket. I've said here before that when my daughters jacket arrived, I was found it to be an even nicer jacket than mine. So, if you do have to go with the Kids jacket, you will not be giving up anything in terms of construction, materials, or even details.

I'm curious about the snap issue. Snaps have never been offered for the Legend jackets, only the Hero, and last I heard even those are no longer a standard option. That might explain why the shipping charge for snaps. Did I misread something? :-k

Kind Regards,

Weston

EDIT: Oops! I went back and read that it was the pocket flaps that had the problem, not the storm flap.

Yeah, he said he's missing the pocket snap parts, and those are on ALL the jackets, regardless of maker or location.

They just missed that step in the construction of his jacket.

I just sent an email with some pictures to Sargent Hack to ask his size recommendation for me. I know he probaly is going to suggest the extra large kids legend version. I also mentioned the fact that my jacket came with incomplete pocket flap snaps. I really hope that I don't get charged shipping to swap out my jacket for the child's version. Also, will they be able to take it back even though the tag has been removed?

What would be some size recommendations for me? I am about 5'6'' and weigh about 113 lbs. Thanks for the help.

Sargent Hack got back to me and said that a kids XL would do well for me. I shall be sending this jacket that I have now back to them on Monday in exchange for the childs version. I'll post photos to compare with these when I receive it. Hope everything will work out and be much more of an improvement in fit on me.

I'm always hesitant to send things back also. I know it'll take a while, but you paid for it and you want to be 100% happy. I know I'm glad that I sent mine back and waited! :)

I'm with Michaelson: :M:  (Minus the mustache and glasses of course.)

You made the right call, that Small is just too much jacket. Speaking from experience, I'm sure USW will make it right.

I know how you feel. I'm 2 inches shorter than you but around the same weight, and I have found that even small sizes are sometimes too big for me, I think I'll be ordering the Kids Legend jacket in the not too distant future, as it seems to be a very good option. I hope it all turns well for you! :TOH:

Thanks, nice to know that I'm not alone. This makes me feel a whole lot better about my sizing situation. Will you be going with the XL kids version like myself? Will this be your first Indy jacket, or have you owned previous versions?

That's the one thing I hate about ordering online - you never know what you're gonna get.. The jacket looks great, except for the fit and the snaps. I hope the kids XL works better for you. I'd suggest keeping it if I thought you'd grow into it, but based on the mustache and goatee, I'm thinking there's not much growing to be had here.

It's great he's going to get it replaced but it goes to show that they don't inspect jackets going out. I understand mistakes happen, but messed up pockets and now forgotten snaps? This company is suppose to have amazing service but recently they haven't been showing that side. They've replaced things but for us it just puts them on the fence when it comes to QC IMHO. :?

US Wings received my jacket to be exchanged this morning and now all I have to do is wait for it to pass through customer service before my replacement jacket will be shipped. I sure do hope I made the right choice in getting the XL kids version. It says on their website that a XL kids version will also fit an adult male or female 5'5" in height and weighing 120-125 lbs. I'm about 5'6'' in height and weight about 113 lbs.

Just received a confirmation of shipment with tracking number email from UPS, today. My package will be here this Friday by the end of the day. Hope everything goes well with this one. My only main concern with it is the sleeve length. I'll post pics when I receive it to compare with my other ones.
