Hey all,

Been out of it a little while--who knew that this school was sooo hard??

Anyway, I would just like to point out that this is pretty awesome, and I can only say I TOLD YOU SO!!:

Hummm. Considering many of us were after Peter to make us one of these YEARS before your 2004 post at Indyfan.com, I'm not sure what you're 'telling us so'. :-k

For instance, here's a sample from 2001 where Wings decided to proceed with a cloth prototype when Wested first decided to pass on the project.

http://indyfan.dnsalias.com/vault/forum ... 65004.html

You'll also notice the proceeding work that I was doing regarding the prototype Akubra Federation at the time..... 8)

 err...

I was saying 'I told you so,' that it would be an awesome idea... Sorry if that wasn't clear.

As IndianaJames pointed out back in the thread '04, he and others had considered it long before I asked if it could be done.

Don't worry, rhb, I'm sure Michaelson won't keep and wear your jacket. I'm the same size he is, he can send it to me. \:D/

(kidding...too bad you couldn't get your order sent in two separate shipments, since the HH was going to take so much longer. I'm sure it seemed at the time like it would be done soon. Hence the decision to wait for both jackets.)

So, I've had my jacket for a week or so and I have to say it's a great piece to own. I've been leery of buying an Indy jacket for some time since I can't be in a store to try on. I got Todd's $150 version and it was way too short (in an XL) so I was Leary of the denim offering from Wested. Anyways I bit the bullet and got it,... the sleeves were actually quite long. :D A plus in my book.

I love it, I ended up washing it and drying it to shrink it up. Quite ironic from my last jacket outing. Anyways, after the wash, the cotton interior feels a lot softer and the jacket as a whole feels great.

One thing I have to say is my collar lies perfectly. It bunches up evenly on both sides and looks good zipped up. I'm now looking at a leather Wested for spring, probably the HH. I hope this helps anyone out there that might be considering this wonderful piece. :D

Erin,

How tall are you? I've been thinking of getting a denim, but as I sometimes get a tall/long, I've been hesitant. Getting answers from Wested has been like pulling teeth!

Glad you FINALLY received it, my friend! :D

You'll find it will kind of 'grow' on you too. I'm grabbing mine more and more often when I walk out the door, replacing my cotton twill Wested Raiders as my favorite 'warmer weather jacket'.

Well, my denim is breaking in just nicely but I have one item with it. How long are the side straps supposed to be? I'm wearing mine fairly tight and the remaining strap "feels" way to long. Does anyone know what the length is from a S/A jacket.

... I know, I know. I'll post pics as soon as I get my camera back.

I posted these pics over in my thread about getting the leather in... but I should post here too....

I'm in love with this jacket... too bad it's too cold here in Toronto for it now... but I am SO looking forward to many years of joy... it's really great!!!

Thanks Bink... hey... no one commented on the gloves... check 'em!

Erin... the straps look about the same as mine... you just have 'em pulled too tight... let them be loose... it'll still look great!!!!

I tried that when I got it but when they're loose it doesn't fit as well.

It's probably better if they are too long rather than too short. You can adjust them the way you like and if they prove annoying then get them trimmed down. You probably won't notice them after a while anyway.

Is anyone who has gotten the denim around 6'2"? I wanted to order one of these but I'm concerned about the length of the body and sleeves. Anyone have a 46 or 48 and can provide me some measurements? If so please respond or PM me!

...and I'm 6' and ordered a 46". This one fits perfect, the arm length is just right.

The sleeve measures from shoulder seam to cuff 26"

From collar to shoulder seam 8"

length from center base of collar to bottom in the back 26 1/5"

Remember I't's been washed and dried so it's shrunk up a hair, albeit a tiny hair.

Hope that helps some :D

Atta boy... if I did that, I'd be dead from hypothermia.

I wear the leather in my basement every day while working... it's pretty darned cold down here in the winter... and it's where my studio is, so I'm wearing the leather to break it in... and it keeps me warm.

YAY!!!

Hello All,

I am considering ordering a denim raiders jacket from wested.

My chest measures a 38...so naturally I would get one size larger. So that would be a 40.

I am wondering if the online order form options are measured in inches. I wouldn't want to choose 40 and then have the actual measurement be WAY too big. I understand from previous posts that there are usually 4 inches allowed for extra room...meaning, a 38 would measure somewhere around 42 inches, and a 40 somewhere around 44.

Just wanting to make sure the measurement units are similar to avoid mishaps.

Sorry if this has been posted before, I used the search as best as I could.

No worries... one needs to be SURE....

I wear a 44reg... ordered a 44 reg... and it fits wonderfully. If you like a looser fitting jacket, then by all means get the one size larger. My feeling is that if you wear a 38, then get a 38... Wested seems to build in that it's an OUTERWEAR jacket, and needs a little extra room. If you're uncertain, get your exact measurements, and send them to Peter, and get some advice from him.
