In answer, the only leather jackest I'd trust to a truck dragging would be horse, bison or cowhide. ;)

That said, though, I would say this leather would survive any other action sequences tossed at it from the films.

Well, the jacket is fairly dry, so here's the update.

http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/1548/dsc0455k.jpg

http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/3135/dsc0446b.jpg

It will probably gain a little length back as it relaxes. Right now, it's almost stiff enough to stand on it's own. I've go to say, I don't like to hurry things up where jackets are concerned, and wasn't sure I should do this, but man I love the way this turned out!

Indybrit, mine is size L, and I'm 6' tall, 175 lbs.

Looks like the sleeve length is good though, that's what I would be worried about. TW, do you know when these ship?

Wow.

That is awfully darn close to something HF took off and handed to you in 1980. Weston, front or back that is pretty incredible, and I am speaking of the jacket. I am honestly so impressed with the cut that US Wings has done; the best they've ever put out.

Absolutely exceptional. The color too ... it meets my expectation that the jacket should nearly match the hat ribbon. I see the perfect mix of smooth and textured leather.

Yes, let me repeat a previous question asked... when are these due to ship?? Sarge? There's a chill in the air and this baby will be just right.

I've been out of the loop for a long long time.. but this jacket has made me open my eyes! That looks awesome!! I know it must be in the history somewhere... just don't have time to do an in depth search; so is there still a COW discount for these beauties? The US made as well as the overseas made jackets? Sorry if this is an old boring question, feel free to ignore  :TOH:

Tollan I'll jump in before someone else does.

Best email US wings,Myke is the guy to talk to.
The discount WAS for people who went on a list to get the jacket, but it's worth asking them.
It did sound to me like the discount was here to stay for COW members in some of Sarges recent posts.

BUT PLEASE ASK US WINGS.

THanks Michaelson. I wonder if anyone of our members have ever tried being pulled behind any vehicle....I actually had a student shooting a weather video once and was trying to recreate the truck scene. He ran along behind a jeep and then grabbed the spare tire dragging his feet behind. Ended up wrecking his shoes....
best Canada
PS do we know if the imports use the same leather?

Wow, is all I have to say on these SL Legend jackets, absolutely great looking jacket. _ said that if you were looking for a jacket earlier on from U.S. Wings to go with the SL jacket. Wow, this jacket just is awesome. Even more awesome than that is that Sarge is giving COW members in good standing a $100 discount, that in itself is amazing. Thanks Sarge.

I may have to get one of these since Riley has not gotten back to me yet and I am not sure when or if he will. Awesome jacket. =P~

I don't believe I'll be able to order one until after we get our tax return early next year. I'm definitely sold on this jacket. =P~ I hate to be the "lone wolf" in the crowd when it comes to this but I saw Weston's pics where he recently washed the jacket and in my opinion it looked better before doing that. Now the shots from the back and of the jacket zipped looked fine but the one of the jacket not zipped up to me looked like the jacket had shrunk a bit.... :? I think I'm going to just let my jacket age naturally this time...

That's perfectly fine Pitfall. I'll post an update in the next few days now that it's softening up and had a light coat of Pecards. I truly did love the way it looked before, but in a moment of insanity, I just had to know what it would look like after the treatment. It isn't for everyone, and anyone considering doing this should really think hard about it, because there is no going back!

I hope we see alot of them just aging naturally. :TOH:

So, Weston did it shrink a little or is just my mind playing tricks on me? :-k I mean the other two shots it didn't seem like it did but the one shot with the jacket open it looked a bit smaller on you. :?

I did the same thing you did with my lambskin G&B jacket a while back and at first I thought it made the jacket fit me better but now I regret doing it because it did shrink some and I wish I would have just left it alone. :(

It's a bit tighter after the treatment, but its relaxing back out now. I'll put updated pics in the comparison thread and you can see it before and after side by side.

PsychicsAndSwords, the Legend Jacket does have longer sleeves than their other Indy jackets. That, and the cut of the jacket, with the fully functional action back with the high yoke keep the sleeves from riding up when you move or reach for things. There is no distressing on this jacket; the camera flash is picking up some shine around the seams.

Ron521, I don't know what kind of lining they are using in the signature series these days. Mine is an older version, with an almost tan colored lining with the texture of cotton.

JC1972, if you do go for an import, I don't think you will be disappointed; it has alot going for it. I actually like the pocket shape better on the import to be honest.

Weston
Greetings, This is my first post. I just got my overseas version of this jacket (Legend/Striated Lambskin) and I couldn't be happier. The fit is perfect on me. The grain is awesome!

I got a L, I usually wear a 42R suit jacket. I'm 5'8", shirt 15 33/34. This jacket is definitely no lightweight, yet it's not too heavy. The cut and finish are perfect (to me), and the lining is not going to wear out any time soon. I told Sarge that I might want to shorten the sleeves about 3/4". He said Don't Do It! In about a month they will conform to you naturally. So that's my plan. Personally I have no intention of force aging this one (even though I have seen many nice results posted). I'm going to let it do it's thing. I have owned the Todds lightweight and high end models, and although he does a good job on the latter, he can't touch the Wings jacket. Sarge says it is also made to the original Raiders pattern like the US version.

I'm thinking of posting some pic's. Since I'm new here, I would appreciate it if someone would suggest whether I should post in this thread or start another for it.

That's great! I know we would all love to see it! If you don't mind starting a new thread as your is an import and this thread discusses the US made version, I think that could eliminate some confusion. Let's see it!
