When will my "Mola Lamb" be ready?

It is this same reason that I have told people that they cannot sell an item on eBay for what they paid for it. No one will pay 310$ for a Wested on eBay when that will get them a new one from the source, nor will they pay 280$ for it, when just 25$ more gets them the same.

Actually, Strider, I've sold three Westeds on Ebay and have gotten what I've paid (sometimes more). Maybe it's my snappy descriptions or flashy photography!?!

All three of the people who bought my old Westeds on Ebay had never heard of Indygear or COW. Remember, there are a LOT of people who love these films and want an Indy jacket but don't know where to buy it. Perhaps this is the clientele Todd is looking for? Some people won't care if it's a Wested, G & B, U.S. Wings or Disney as long as it looks like Indy's jacket. If they find Todd's Costumes on the internet and are happy with his products, good for them. There they can buy the hat, shirt, gloves, bag, belt, holster and now a jacket. One stop shopping for Halloween or whatever! That's what Todd is hoping to achieve I think. Two cents...

You'd be surprised what an incentive not having to wait for something to be made can be. It may also have something to do with the fact that you can see what features an already made item has or doesn't have on it...i.e., the right sized pockets, rectangular sliders, etc., instead of ordering one new & hoping that it arrives as specified...

Yes, that was incentive for me to buy my Flightsuits years ago. I knew I'd get the correct rectangular loops on my sidestraps, minimal leather facings on my zipper, correct, "piping" on the inside pocket, smaller collar, etc. Wested has caught up with more accurate specs but it's still a @#$%-shoot sometimes. Though having a custom product is incentive enough for most people, it's also nice to know what you're going to get in advance.

Exactly. On one jacket I requested the 80's fit...when I got it, it also had no leather facing on the zipper. I almost asked for this, so it was okay, but when I aksed about it, I was told that it was part of the 80's cut 'package.' So on my next jacket I requested the 80's fit again, thinking that it would come with no leather facing on the zip like the last one, but when it arrived it HAD the leather facing! When I required about the facing on this jacket, I was told that you must request no leather facing to have it left off! It was a minor point since it's on the inside of the jacket, but I was told 2 different things! I guess it's best to just specifiy every little thing that you want & leave nothing to chance...even with these little mistakes, Wested still makes one Heck of a jacket!

After all that. Do you have a preference, facing on the zipper or not? And why?

I think on the goatskin I'd rather no facing, but possibly rather it on the Lambskin. Being that the goat is thicker, the lack of facing makes the edge of the jacket easier to crumple up & get it broken-in looking...so these are my preferences, but since it doesn't show, it's not a critical point as far as I'm concerned. Case in point, I kept both jackets as they had arrived, it wasn't worth having them altered for such a minor thing...

Once again, THANK you!

This is what almost occurred during the last U. S. Wings clearance sale. A few members here made 'casual' comments that they thought returned items were being put back on the shelf and being resold. Wings went ballistic (yes, they do read our forum, folks. ). This essentially accused them of fraud, and not only REGULAR fraud, but interstate fraud, as purchases made by credit card and items shipped across State lines gets the Feds involved.....specifically the Postal Inspector, among others. U. S.Wings lawyers were sharpening their swords.....

Several of you have NO clue just how close to a bullet you came. Fortunately a LOT of negotiation got things calmed down, and the sabers were put back in their scabbords unbloodied, but it came awfully close for a few days there. It's one thing to critique an items, good or bad, but a completely different kettle of fish when you slander a firm in a public forum.

Just a case in point....

Ok, I am categorically saying that I am not in any way accusing US Wings or any of our vendors of doing this but....

What do people think happens to jackets that are returned, for whatever reason. (eg. they don't fit, sleeves are too short, don't like the colour etc etc, nothing inherantly wrong with the jacket and they are "as new"). They don't seriously expect them to be destroyed do they?

That's what sales are for: clearing old, end of line, overstocked and returned stock, aren't they?

They are donated to charible agencies around the world by Wings. None have ever been sold. Yet another reason why Wings went ballistic when those accusations were posted and carried by 'word of mouth' to other forums that read our pages. Rumors tend to gain speed when repeated, no matter HOW wrong they are.

This is not generally known, or advertised by David Hack or Wings.

I don't know what other companies do.

Returned goods are sold in the sale "as is" or "shop soiled".

Todd, I think it's great that you have been brave enough to launch your own 'Indy jacket' and I respect you as a costume maker, but sadly, I won't be buying the jacket, as even the small one would be too big on me.

However, I'll be interested in seeing a review of this jacket, once somebody orders it.
