You can go for a mild distressing. That’s what I asked for when I ordered my Cazadora 36. I asked Diego to just distress the seams area where wear would really take place, also to leave room for me to naturally distress the jacket while wearing it.

I know S&J can do anything I want, and that's the problem! Too many options.....j/k. I want distressing, just was wondering how far to take it.

This is LC jacket with mild distressing.
I can do it even lighter.

That looks perfect to me, and is what I'll go with. I know you would have covered this with me whenever my order came up to be made, was just trying to save bombarding you with questions, and quite frankly I'm pretty excited. Been waiting 30+ years for this.

Bombarding with questions! LOL!!
Don't worry to ask anything, and at any time.
That's the only way to get what you are looking for.
We need to know what's the jacket you have in mind (we are not mind-readers....yet! LOL!)
We are used to receiving tons of messages with questions and responding as soon as possible.
Cheers.-

Leather is 1.1 mm thick.
Accurate for LC.
Weight depends on sizing.-

I really like that mild distress job. It's screen accurate, yet leaves room for natural wear from the actual owner. Well done!

I have had my Cazadora '38 since mid April of this year, and have been meaning to get some photos and my thoughts up since then.
First, the ordering process was just incredible. I know there are countless posts praising Steele & Jones for their customer service, so I can't really add anything that hasn't all ready been said. I just have to say from the first emails I was impressed. Diego was prompt, informative, and a pleasure to deal with. When I reached out in January about ordering I was given an expected timeline, and Steele & Jones stuck to it and I got my jacket exactly when they said I would. I was a little worried about sizing, and I shouldn't have been. Diego asked for a lot of information and a photo, and he nailed the fit.
I went with Steele & Jones for my Last Crusade jacket after I searched their posts on this forum and saw the amount of dedication and research they have put into this jacket. I love that they went all the way from Argentina to the Smithsonian to study the screen used tank jacket in person.
My jacket is the Cazadora '38 Last Crusade Tank jacket in "Chocolate Premium Horsehide" leather. I went with horsehide as I want this jacket to be the one that last my whole life. I know that this leather can take anything. To match that toughness I went for an all cotton interior lining, as I have heard satin wears out faster. The only other modification I made to it was I asked Diego to add the elastic band to keep the pleats in place, just for quality of life over screen accuracy.
I absolutely love this jacket. The leather is incredibly tough, and not thick at all. It drapes and acts like the jacket in the movie. This horsehide is much thinner than my cowhide Magnoli jacket. It is the exact same thickness of my Wested Legacy Raiders jacket in lambskin. The Wested's lambskin is softer to the touch, but this horsehide is great.
My only regret is not getting it distressed at all. I think the distressing Steele & Jones offer looks incredible. If I ever order another jacket it will be a distressed one from them.
This jacket has all ready been on adventures with me, including a 3000 mile road trip. I look forward to many future adventures in my Cazadora '38. These photos were taken at sunset, so the colors are a bit more golden and saturated than they look in real life.

Congratulations on the beautiful jacket! Fit is spot on and it looks great on you! That horsehide looks really substantial as well, literally a tank jacket. It's never a wrong choice to go with Steele & Jones.
As a fellow Cazadora owner, cheers
Wear it in good health

My LC cazadora 38' Smithsonian Steel & Jones
This jacket is incredible, worked with detail, comfortable and with quality leather.
I appreciate Diego's work and dedication.
I recommend getting a piece of these Last Crusade replicas.

My TOD Horsehide is tough as nails, easily as tough as the cowhide I got years back but a far nicer leather with the red undertone.

Hi!
As KramStaar said (thanks mate), the horsehide is the most resistant skins. Fibers are closer and tougher.
We still have the THIN version (0.7 mm thick)
Makes a lightweight jacket, that will last decades.
Good for Raiders and ToD styles.
But for better water resistant, we also recommend our new cowhide.
We have it in standard (0.9 mm) or thick (1.2 mm) version.
Best regards.-

This may not be the place to ask this question but is there much difference on the fit between the LC jacket and the Hawaii Raiders version. I know the LC has a clasp or button at the top of the zipper, wider collar, and D rings with the straps, but is the fit much different ?
Thanks

Raiders and LC have different patterns, regarding the overall look.
Raiders = V shape body, large on upper shoulders.
LC = Boxie shape body, baggy upper sleeves, large on upper shoulders.

I like the pocket flaps - especially the way they are wider than the pocket itself - a detail I don't think Wested get right.

“Hybrid”, not “mutant”.
I’m kinda with you … I think I’m dreaming of a Raiders jacket with a hybrid back… high yoke but less taper to the bottom of the back panel.

I’m joining the club everyone! Placed a down payment on a Cazadora ‘38 today after my current issues with the Magnoli WL jacket I just received. Figured why deal with the hassle of I’ll fitting and poor quality jacket sand jump straight to the best of the best. I requested a distressed level somewhere between their medium to SA distressing. I’m super excited for this

Sounds great.
I recently bought on of the Thin HH jackets of another member on here and am more than thrilled with it.
They take quite a lot wearing to soften up but the jacket will outlast me I reckon.
Might get to take a picture or two over the holidays and post em up.

I’d definitely be interested in seeing it if you get around to it. I strongly considered the horsehide before settling for the cowhide based on the price.
