To sum it up Dutch:

it didn't come because it had not been sent.

They still haven't got my jacket.

They are now sending me a goatskin one in stead, at no extra charge.

All this talk with problems contacting Wested makes me rethink about getting one and instead keeping my G&B and USW Blue Label. As my wife says, better leave well enough alone.

I just think it's weird that I haven't had the same problem with Wested that others are having. In fact, I got an e-mail this morning from Wested (earliest e-mail after the weekend I ever got from them).

Nor have I. All these problems are very strange and I wonder if Wested is aware of them.

However, as far as I can tell this only happens to a few people out here while others get through ok. I don't think it's fair to use this as a reason not to do business with them. A lot of people were getting their jackets in the middle of all these problems without any trouble whatsoever, including me.

Holt, it feels amazing to finally get it.

I had actually ordered and paid for a ROLA special, but as they couldn't get that delivered they went ahead and gave me a Raiders jacket.

:)

Fantastic!

So Strones, to answer your question, I believe it's goatskin. And I had made no specific demands about the color, so I guess thats standard brown.

And Joyce, don't worry. I'm sure you'll get yours eventually. Mine may have taken a long time to get here, but as it turned out I ended up with a better jacket that way.

Believe it or not, Strones, those pictures were taken in daylight. It's just that it was raining all day....

Here are some better ones:

Too bad my camera isn't very good.

I am extremely happy with the jacket. Therefore I decided to call Wested again and let them know. I spoke to a man (Peter?) on the phone and informed him that my jacket had arrived and that I was very pleased with the whole situation.

:) :) :) :)

He seemed very happy to hear this. I personally think it is unfortunate that people (like myself) only call them when things go wrong. So therefore I decided to let them know when it went right.

As he hung up the phone, I heard him tell somebody:
"Well, that was nice..."

Well, I originally ordered the standard ROLA 'special' jacket, wich I believe is made in lambskin. Butb as detailed above, it just didn't turn up.

So when I spoke to Gemma on the phone last week, she said they still didn't have the jacket in. They did however have the goatskin ones in.

I then asked her if there was a price difference, as I was willing to pay extra just to get a jacket, and she said: "Yes, twenty pounds." However she was willing to let me have one of those at no extra cost.

As I am not knowledgable about leather, but I believe this is goatskin, as she said that was what she would send me. I also believe that this is a 'Raiders'in stead of a 'ROLA', first of all because that would account for the twenty pound price difference, and also because it sais 'RAIDERS JACKET' on the certificate.

Anyhow, I am very happy with the way things turned out.

I don't know either. I'm a potential customer and when I first emailed them about a month ago, I got responses the next day from Gemma. Since then, I have emailed them twice with very simple questions regarding the measurements on an OTR 40 LC washed goat and an OTR 40 Raiders washed goat. That's all I wanted to know before I placed the order, but no answer either time. I can't afford to call either and wait on the line while they measure them.

It's probably correct for the standard "Raiders" jacket.

They are a bit of a snapshot of the jackets at the time of writing, there have been different "fits" since then so some are slimmer, longer etc. It can only be taken as an approximate guide.

It should be revised really.

noting yet. i had hoped that since because both my previous order was lost, and the fact that i didnt order anything out of the ordinary, that they would get right on mine and get it to me before halloween. But if you follow a 25 business day shipping schedule, it should arrive mid november. just wish it would get here sooner.

Three Week Wested Turnaround

Post by lpa53 »

I orderd my jacket from Wested around October 3rd and received it last week, so it took about three weeks. I had great communications with Gemma the entire time.

It may have helped, though, that I had ordered a standard off-the-rack jacket - no customizations. I'm going to put rectangular sliders on myself.

I have had a similar bad experience with emails. Over the last month I have sent six emails with only one answer. I know that Gemma has been receiving my emails because she quoted the previous emails on the single response I got. The last email went to Wested@Wested.com over a week ago also without a response. It wouldn't be that big of a deal but my jacket was made of the wrong leather. I really don't think that I should have to pay for a phone call to England so I'm planning on keeping the jacket. It does fit me very well and it's a great jacket otherwise. I just cannot speak very well of their customer service. I have held off saying anything on these forums because of the large number of Wested fans here who seem to think that if there is a problem then it must be the customer's fault, but at this point I have plenty of documentation.

I am tired of wasting my time. Wested seems to make a truly great product, and I had planned on purchasing another jacket in a different pattern and leather, but at this point I will take my business elsewhere.

Hi Cammer, the problems with Wested appear to be communication only: A number of e-mails sent by costumers have not reached them and a number of responces to customers have not arrived. If Gemma quoted your previous e-mails you can be sure she's replied them when they came in but just did not get trough

I am one of the fortunate ones that have no communication problems regarding Wested at all, but I had the same problem with my proffesor, so I know what a mess it can create (ended up costing me a whole year).

I hope that those problems can and will be resolved quickly.

So I don't think it is their customer service that's lacking (have had some realy good experiences myself) but someone needs to take a good look at their e-mail account and fix the problem.

Regards, Geert

I suppose I'll have to agree with you on this. I really don't have a problem with their product, it really is outstanding, and the one time that I heard back from Gemma she seemed to be attempting to be helpful. And the time to deliver a custom jacket was faster than I expected, only a couple weeks including shipping time from England to the states. It's just that I am unable to communicate with them via email and it has led to some real problems that I won't go into further until they get resolved. There is more going on than I'm going to talk about until I hear Wested's side of things. There really has to be an explanation for this.

Sorry for derailing the thread. I really didn't intend to do so. So back to the topic! :)

I just feel like considering that i ordered on the 17th of september, then sent proof that i ordered in october, that maybe i should have been bumped up a bit. Also, as I didnt order all kinds of specific things like the collar stand must be this high, and the yoke has to be this wide, I just went with all their standard measurements made larger to fit me.

I just want it here. soon.

How do you know at what stage your jacket is at? I couldn't even get them to return an email and you know at which point in production your jacket is on a day to day basis?

They wouldn't tell me what leather my jacket was made of, or whether or not it was 80s pattern, etc. I actually attempted to cancel the order within 48 hours of placing it and didn't hear back from Gemma until I had sent three additional emails over the course of at least a week, when she stated that she would cancel the order but since the jacket was partly completed there would be a charge. I emailed back, okay, what is the charge, and a couple days later the jacket shows up on my doorstep!! I've sent a few more emails since then asking why they made it out of the wrong leather, and I still have heard NOTHING!!

Yet you are updated on a daily basis? :x

Cammer, I was one of the people who had problems with Wested. But again these were mostly communications problems. They never seemed to receive my emails and I never seemed to get their replies.

It was only after I called them on the phone that everything was resolved. And it certainly was resolved to my satisfaction. I am very happy with the service they gave me and would not hesitate to do business with them again. In fact, I already have.

So my recommendation to you is to simply call them. When you speak to them personally I belive all will be resolved. It was for me, and I felt very releaved after that.

Cammer,

I just send them emails.and 98% of them I get an answer to.2% ends up in their spam.

if I dont getan answer I let it go for a day and just send 2 of the same email to gemma.then I allways get an answer.

no prob
