For those of you who own one currently, is the felt forgiving? In other words, could you bash it real easily and then pop it out and then put another bash in to experiment to see what you like?
Good question WhipDude!

from my review of the Henry:

"This also translates well for those who might be a little nervous bashing a hat for the first time as the softness makes the felt very forgiving. Definitely no need in busting out the kettle here, it just molds to the shape your fingers give it."

I just got mine ( size 58 ) yesterday, and I've been bashing it ever since. I think the felt is quite forgiving - at least the first five or six times you bash it. If you don't press to hard to make the creases you want, I imagine you could continue to bash it untill the end of time. The felt is very soft and workable, but does seem to have its own opinion i some cases.'

The only problem I have, is that I do not have any mirrors with a good light. The one I have is in the bathroom, an the light there makes it look off - I don't quite know how, it just does.

My Henry arrived today, a 58.

There is nothing new I could say concerning the quality. :)

I just need to convince the backpart of the brim not be that curved. :whip:

A brilliant hat!

Greetings,
Numeron.

To be honest, I think the curve on the back of your hat is good - mine has probably that much, and it's very accurate. If anything needs work, I'd say you need more curve in the side of the brim. -M

Yes. you're right, Mulceber. With more curve on the sides the back looks much better. In the meantime I have changed some details and now I'm really happy with the result.

A friend commented the picture on the right with "Hmm... It looks like a statute from the Easter Islands with a gag!"
(I hope, "gag" is the right word..!?)

"Gag" is a valid word in this connection... Although it could be misunderstood if you really wanted to... But that would make no sense in connection to the Easter Islands...

And yes, it looks like something from the Easter Islands!!

Its here!!!!! Today after 5 Months precisely it arrived! Unfortunately I won't have time to bash it and to take pics as I have to run out of the door and wont return untill late this evening :(

First impressions: It's great! I knew that a 62 would be a tad loose, but nothing a little bit of paper towel won't fix :)

It has a tiny bit of taper, but my long-oval head elminates that even without the paper towel, so I probably wil be able to get reverse taper with it.

The feel of the felt is just great: buttery soft and luxurious.

All in all I think my first Indy hat is a great one!

Great job Marc! :notworthy:

gotta run now

I just got mine as a very generous gift from another COWer!!!!! Phenomenal hat, with a great backstory, and also happens to combine the middle names of my daughter (Fedora) and son (Henry). It's the finest hat I've ever handled, easy and forgiving to bash. I have to say that all the compliments given here are not exaggerations. I'm honored to own this piece.

Hi, my size 60 has arrived on wednesday, too. Sadly it turned out ot be too large for my head, but it looks great anyway. I'm going to order a smaller size and sell this one. The delivery time is supposed to be down to about four weeks now (according to Marc). That seems acceptable.

Have many of these made it over to the Americas yet? I am still patiently awaiting the arrival of the Henry, and wanted to find out if they've been popping up over here.

Yes, mine made it a week or so ago. I'm in Michigan. I ordered mine (a 58) back in September.
