The new CS novapelle is the first jacket I've been totally happy with right out of the famous Wested-bag. It needs NO distressing to be SA.
That was the exact same thought that I had.

Just looked at this thread for the first time and I must say when I saw WW LC jacket Iwas a little dumbfounded. Not bagging on WW but that is some heavy distressing. My wife saw the pictures and threatened bodily harm to me if I attempted to do something similar to my jacket. I do want to distress my jacket a little but do want to do any extreme damage.

I have a feeling the the Novapelle jacket may be in my future.

I'm afraid it looked more like vandalism to me than distressing.

Scot, I didn't want to seem abrasive (pardon the pun) but I felt the same way. While I trust that the owner really DID study the film and work on it for months.....I think that distressing job has done a disservice to the jacket.

Perhaps it's the flash or the lighting, though. Because I'd be hard-pressed to believe that the owner sees the film and then sees the photo of that jacket and can't tell a major difference.

And I'm not making him "wrong" for it. I just think it's an unnatural looking distress job.

Hey Treadwell---That's really funny. I was another HUGE Indyfan at UF from '89-'92. When I stayed on campus I was at Rawlings.....You still in Florida?
Yup, I'm still in Jax. I graduated in '89. The first pic is between Tolbert (my dorm) and an unpaved parking lot where Keys was built after I was gone, and the second is a footbridge over a low drainage area between Jennings B and Beaty towers.

The movie jacket is an unnatural looking distress job. That's the whole point. Now let my old jacket rest in peace.

Yes, indeed.

That must be it.

Actually, I think it's more accurate to say that it was artificially distressed....to look NATURALLY distressed. While it's true that Harrison's jackets were brand new jackets that were deliberately distressed....they looked like a jacket that had been worn for decades.

So, when I look at pictures here that have been distressed, those are the looks I favor. And that's just me!
Now let my old jacket rest in peace.
LOL -- there was no offense intended. If you're happy with it, that's all that matters!
