I know, saw them there.
I was referring to having pics of the side-straps added, there's none... it's all in the earlier posting.
Thanks though.

It has side straps just like the leather ones, the prototype had the shorter style straps you usually get on the thicker leathers... oh and d-rings!

So, has anyone here actually bought one yet? Have it in hand? I'd love to see some better pics, hear initial impressions, etc...
I'm seriously thinking about getting one, but some first hand accounts would be cool prior to buying...
Thanks!

Think I fancy one of these! Does anyone know how long the sleeves are? I have pretty short arms, 23 inches, and am worried that they will be too long as they only come in standard sizes.
Thanks.

I think you should be fine. Even so, if the arms are a bit long on the jacket, it'd be easy enough to have a local tailor shorten the arms of a denim jacket.
(I'm in the same boat as you.

Ordered mine this evening. As I'm just down the road from them I'm hoping it'll come quite quickly.
I got really excited about this jacket when I read about it on here. There are some situations I don't want to wear my leather jacket in so this one will be ideal, added in the washibility and indy factor and it's good to go in my book.

I would just walk down and pick it up....shoot if I were close , I would go watch them make it.

If only I had the time mate. Unless they're willing to open up and do a late night just for me then I think my chances of getting in there are nil lol

I just sent off an email and Gemma responded that "they" should ship out this week.
Since I only ordered one jacket, I assume the mass that pre-ordered should be going out this week as well

Re the stone washed indyjackets.
Most left yesterday. I was at a funeral of a relative so was not around and in our haste to dispatch never noticed till today that the jackets have chrome D rings when they were meant to have gunmetal sliders.
So, if anyone who got D rings wants to change to sliders let me know and I will send then to you. 2 minute job with pliers
Cheers
Peter

Sorry Michaelson I chaged yours already and like Elvis 'Its left the building'
But youve made me think. Why dont I leave them all with chrome D's but put a packet of sliders in the pocket for those who to change.
Job done

No problem, old friend.
That IS a good idea! Takes the guesswork out of which ring they want by your production crew!

You could always put a D ring on one side, and a slider on the other. Or not.

When you get them you may find that the jackets 'appear' not to have hand warmers, DON'T PANIC
, the handwarmers have been lightly stitched shut so as not to get damaged in the stone washing process. You can open them easily with your finger. Just like on a new suit, they have just been tacked closed.

Thanks for the heads up, KT!
Heck, I may leave mine shut when it arrives, as I find I NEVER use the side entry pockets....but if I decide I want to, now I know I still have them.
VERY useful info, my friend! Thank you!

Recieved it this morning and I'm very impressed. The jacket is a very good fit for me and I'm really impressed with the rugged quality of it.
I've worn it all day and it feels comfortable and warm (it's been a bit nippy today). It's screwed up inside my bag at the moment and I'll see how it comes out in a few hours.
I'll be wearing this jacket when I'm out and about Urban Exploring and when I'm in Peru

Did you open up the side entry pockets or leave them closed?
Just curious.

I meant to add in to my previous post about that.
Mine came with them already open. But they lay so flat you can't really tell they're there unless you put your hands in them. I'll try and post up a few photos later on.

Very good. The ones on my old standard cloth Raiders do the same. I was just curious if yours came the way KT mentioned some of them were left sewn shut.
You answered my question.
Thank you!

PETER,
Thank you for finally responding to my PM-- I think the delay turned out well, because it resulted in my getting THIS jacket instead. Less expensive, and looks really nice.

I was afraid someone would say that! I'd like to, but I have bad eyesight that usually results in crappy photos, and also I haven't even figured out how to post photos here yet. By the time I get someone to take my picture and I learn how to post, someone else probably will have some good photos put up.

I should probably stop letting this thread tease me and stay away from COW until the jacket comes in. I was okay with the wait until the last few days:lol:

You Canadian seem to forget that your customs guys LOVE indy gear and HAVE to open every package from Wested, wear it around the depot for a couple of weeks then charge you inordinate amounts of tax for the privilage!

How does the sizing run? If my jacket from Todd is a 40, should I order a 40 from Peter (and yes, I realize they are different vendors)? I have longish arms.

I'd say you could safely order a size 40, if that is your true measurement.
The arm length I usually take is 34, and the sleeves are slightly long but not bad for an off-the-rack jacket.

I think I have a gift. Everytime I send Wested an email checking the status for all my previous jackets, it arrives the same day.
I sent them an email in the wee hours of the morning and Gemma responded with the tracking number. After verificiation, it has been sorted in the sortation plant (which is also in my city). There is a very good chance I'll be getting it today

Mine arrived yesterday, and Peter, you nailed it!
THIS is what we've been after for a LONG time when we first discussed a easy to care for travel jacket. It's a nice mid-weight denim (a bit heavier than I expected), and darker than the photos show, in my opinion. A perfect fit.
Though I said 'classy' when the chrome D-rings were mentioned, the rectangular black sliders ARE the way to go with the cloth material. No slippage, and a GREAT looking side strap.
All in all, HOME RUN! in my book!
WELL done, and THANK YOU!!!
HIGH Regards! Michaelson
