Note on recent US Wings Customer Service
After reading a bunch of horror stories about US Wings cutomer service I thought that I would post this.
I purchased a US Wings Goat Indy jacket back in the end of October. I recieved it on Halloween, and while very nice it didn't fit quite right, a bit too small. I decided to return it and from what I had read, was expecting some problems. I emailed their customer service and got a Return Autorization Number in less than 24 hours. I mailed it priority mail on the 3rd of November, and just got a confirmation this morning that they have processed my return and credited my card.
I was very happily surprised that the return went very smoothly! Perhaps some of problems wings have had in the past with customer service have been corrected. I thought I'd share my experience since there's a lot of negative opinions (at least service wise) about US Wings, and I can offer at least one positive one. Then again, maybe I just got lucky

I'm hoping they've rounded the corner as well, my friend. Maybe things were just out of control due to the flood and all the lost data. Who knows, but they used to have one of the best customer service track records around until this past year. Glad to hear things are getting back on track! Thanks for telling us!! High regards. Re: Note on recent US Wings Customer Service
I bought 2 jackets from them - an A2 Horsehide and an A2 Goat. Kept the HH and they received my Goat return on 6/1. I followed all their stipulations about putting the RMA on 3 sides of the box, not removing tags, called within their # of day requirement, and mailing it within their # of day requirement. Well it's now 7/8 and a credit hasn't hit my Credit Card yet. I sent a fax today to document my return with the tracking # confirm of their receipt. Will post an update on this situation.killrmonkey wrote:After reading a bunch of horror stories about US Wings cutomer service I thought that I would post this.

Keep hounding them on this matter. Call them a hundred times if youI sent a fax today to document my return with the tracking # confirm of their receipt. Will post an update on this situation.
Fred
have to, and e-mail Sarge himself that you are going to report Wings to
the BBB if this matter is not taken care of. And then DO it!
Also, if you sent the package back thru your local post office, go to them
and ask them to get the information about when and who, signed for your
package when it got back to Wings.
I had this same thing happen to me, and if it wasn't for the fact that
I had all the proof from my post office, including the persons name
and date they received my package, Wings would still be saying they
never got it even though they did.
Keep on them, and if you have to, fill out a report with the BBB for your
claim. This is what I did, with all my proof, and within two days I had
my credit on my card.
You already quailify for filing a complaint with the BBB. You have to
wait 30 days before the post office will do something about your package.
They will have all the documents showing the packages return, but they
wait 30 days to give the other party time to get things straight.
It has now been 30 days in your case, so you also have the post office
to get on Wings case and get you your money back if you want to go
that route.
It appears that Wings customer service is still detached from their
main ordering office. Its a shame. They loose potential customers everyday because of this poor customer service.

Hi Flathead,
I'm wondering if they sign everythink "Hack?" I sent it back via UPS and it was signed for by "Hack." I e-mailed them after I received the Jacket thanking them for their fast shipment and a reply thanking me was sent by "Sgt. Hack." I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and if credit is not put on my account by Monday,

I've ordered two Indy Jackets from USWings and a Cowhide Woman's A-2 for my wife. All 3 arrived very quickly and efficiently. Also ordered some other items here and there (crush cap, whip holder...) and got them right on time. Never had to return an item thou. So my experiences with USWings are all positive.

After sending a second request fax and e-mail this morning, both were answered that a credit was issued to my account on July 8th (the date of my first request) and that it may take up to 10 days for the credit card company to post it to my account. Just too bad they didn't do it on June 1st when they received my return.Michaelson wrote:Please do! Regards. Michaelson

All new products are sent with a thank you from Sarge. But not allI'm wondering if they sign everythink "Hack?" I sent it back via UPS and it was signed for by "Hack." I e-mailed them after I received the Jacket thanking them for their fast shipment and a reply thanking me was sent by "Sgt. Hack." I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and if credit is not put on my account by Monday
returns are signed for by Sarge. The place that receives and processess
their returns does not have the same address as the place where the
packages come from. At least that was the case in the three orders, and
three returns I personally had when I ordered my stuff from Wings.
When I ordered my things, each time the person on the phone told me
that they were not located in the same place as where the products were
coming from. When I asked them for more information about the products
I was ordering, they had absolutely no idea about any of the products as
they told me they were there just to take the orders. As a matter of fact
they couldn't even give me the total of my order each
time I placed one because, according to the phone person, they just
took orders. The processing of those orders took place someplace else.
When I sent a package back the first time, it was a jacket for an
exchange. It went to a different location than when I sent back a
crush cap that I wanted to return for a refund. The jacket went back to
the place where it was made, which was Cooper in New Jersey at that
time. Now Coopers were great with my questions, and they even made
my new jacket with the sleeves an inch shorter. When I originally ordered
the jacket, Wings would not do this, as they just got the jackets directly from
Cooper, and Wings offered no alterations at all. But once I started to deal
with Cooper directly, I could get all the alterations I needed.
Now, I have heard that Wings is making their Indy jackets for themselves, but
you still can't get any alterations made to one of their jackets, so I have
some susspisions as to whether they are actually making the jackets on
site. They still sell the Avirex brand, and a few others, and they still
get some of their A-2's from Cooper directly, so like I said, I
have my own doubts as to whether they would start to make their own
Indy jackets. As a matter of fact, I have a friend that ordered an Indy Jacket
from Wings a few months ago, and he had to send it back, and it had a
Coopers label in it. Maybe it was a left over, but Wings has said they are
making their jackets on site for over two years now, so why would it have
a Cooper label in it? However, his jacket matched stitch for stitch with
my Cooper jacket. Right down to the shape of the pockets, the placement,
and the shape and size of the collar. It does not take a rocket scientist
to see that these two jackets, made almost 4 years apart, where made
by the same place. And that was Coopers.
Anyway, when I had the trouble with my return, and I wrote to Wings, and they
kept telling me that they never received my return, thats when I went
to my post office and asked if they could help me.
They went on their computor, and found the date, time, and persons
name that signed for my package. It was defenately not Sarge. It was
signed for by someone else when the package arrived, and the postal
carrier got this persons signature on the return package.
However, when I finally presented this proof to the e-mail address on
the Wings site, as well as filing the claim with the BBB, I received a
return credit paper with the "Hack" marking on it. This paper was not
the same paper that was signed for by the person who actually received
my return.
What you got could be a return authorizaion from Sarge. It may not be
the actual paper signed for by their return department.
But what really cemented the whole thing for me was, even when I
presented all the facts to Wings, they still tried to deny ever receiving
my return! Although I had all the proper papers, with Wings own
employees signatures on them, they still gave me a hard time. It was
not until I got the United States Postal Service, and the BBB on them,
that I got my money back.
I will never, ever buy from them again. I even tried to talk my friend
out of buying his Indy jacket from Wings, but he got it when it was on sale, and
he thought they may have changed their ways since I placed my orders.
But, it seems that they still need better customer service, even after
all this time.

This is proof postive to keep on them no matter what. After sending a second request fax and e-mail this morning, both were answered that a credit was issued to my account on July 8th (the date of my first request)
If you did not keep on them, your credit would never have been
processed, as proven by the fact that it took your first fax to
get them to even see that you had a credit coming to you even
though they had your return for over a month.
At least you are getting the credit now. But this is good information
for everyone thinking about ordering from Wings. You MUST keep
on them about returns!! And keep ALL your paperwork, and always
send your packages back to them with Delivery Confirmation from
the post office!! You'll need the proof to get your money back.
