This may be the year I get a proper pair of Indy boots.
However it's the one gear item I haven't really researched all that much, as they are expensive (particularly if you're not US-based) and I didn't think I'd really wear them. For the longest time, I just had a couple of Todds replicas. As time passed though, I think I may finally be old enough to pull them off.
I know there's the whole controversy about the color. Do they really look that off if ordered today? Wouldn't that be just a matter of aging? My David Morgan looks radically different today than back when I got it, as usual with leather.
Anyway, happy to hear any suggestions, tips or whatever comes to mind from current owners.

I’d recommend getting a used pair from eBay, it’d be a lot cheaper and you would actually, know what you’re getting. I’ve had a friend complain about quality control in a few pairs that he bought directly from Alden.

Alden is not what they used to be. At ~$700 bucks, its a hard sell.

I’ve had a pair of Magnoli Clothier Adventure Boots since 2009 and they are still going strong. And I was able to get the exact color I wanted and customization of no speed hooks (I don’t like them).

Jeez, 702 bucks now. I’m glad I bought mine years ago. Even then, I thought the $468 I paid was steep.

The customization options are the icing on the cake.Indiana Jeff wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 5:03 pm I’ve had a pair of Magnoli Clothier Adventure Boots since 2009 and they are still going strong. And I was able to get the exact color I wanted and customization of no speed hooks (I don’t like them).
