DoD S&J DISTRESSED JACKET PROJECT

Post by Indiana Croft »

So I've been tweaking my S&J jacket since getting it, S&J did an amazing job and I'm in no way saying anything of the contrary, I just like to add my take o n it.
1st thing I did was to work on muting the distressing so it was so ''out there'', this si how i see the jacket in stills and on the screen wither it be large or small.

Sleeve with repaired bullet hole.

After as of 03-2025

Here's some from last year

And some taken today, 03-2025

The process I took was buff with a 600grit scuff pad, then hit it with the dye, then some more tweaks here and there.
Over all I'm pleased with the outcome.

Thanks for the compliments, I might be finished, but knowing how my ocd works on this stuff, probably not.

I own a a Wested Hero Raider’s in Lamb, yes distressed it.
I own a S&J ToD, distressed by S&J and I tweaked it as well.
I own a S&J Truck chase, distressed by S&J, yes tweaked by me, but not by much.

But the DoD resonates with me, Indy and the jacket he wore, Indy is older, I’m older now and this
jacket could be the jacket I’ve been searching for since seeing Raiders in the theater when it came out.
Day after I bought a wool fedora and I was transported, I was Indy. Not really, but think all who associated with this site no what I mean.
Then through the years I acquired gear and collected gear and props. And yes, found COW.

Thank you, all of you. You mean a lot to me and my sanity :TOH:

Beautiful work, Croft! I'm always amazed with your talent for weathering gear. You somehow find a way to make it look like you grabbed your gear right off of Indy himself! That DoD jacket is absolutely beautiful, and it's especially awesome because you put your own work into weathering it/tweaking it. It makes it uniquely yours, which is super cool.

Great work, as always, Croft. :TOH:

I really like the photos with the fog in the distance. With how accurate the jacket is now, they look like behind the scenes photos from the aqueduct sequence in DoD. Nice work.

Beautiful work Croft! The jacket looked awesome before but your work seems to have added a certain "it" that put it over the edge :notworthy:

Thanks again.
And Indiego Jones, you guys got it started for me, I just added paint to the canvas.
And now I have a DoD beaver from Swain on order.
Literally tonight I ordered it when I got home.

Can’t wait to get, break it in some, and look for the right time for some more pics \:D/

Croft, you did an amazing job with this jacket! Whenever I’m next going to be in the market for a jacket again, the Steele & Jones DOD will be my choice.

I kinda got to agree.
But check first, when I bought this it was one of five they could with this particular leather, a stiffer kind of Lamb.
Several times i put it in the dryer with no heat to help break it in.

Drop Diego a line, if he doesn't have it, he'll have something equally as good. :TOH:
Another jacket for the collection.
