Black fedora recommendations?

Hey friends
Been awhile, last fedora I bought was from Lee Keppler himself. Can anyone recommend a black fedora with a mid width brim, soft, around $100-150? Would like it to have a liner, fedora style of course.

Unfortunately, the Akubra Federation is no longer offered in black. I had one years ago, and it would have fit the bill for you perfectly.

I’d still recommend dropping them a line JUST to see if they may have one stuck back in old stock .

If you can locate one of those, you’re set!

If it doesn't have to be an Indy style hat, Akubra does offer their Bogart and Stylemaster fedora in black. (Did they ever offer the Campdraft in black, too? They don't now.) Or, if you don't mind replacing a har band with your own ribbon, Akubra has a few other "country" hats which are fedora-ish in configuration.

But Michaelson's suggestion to contact Hatsdirect.com/The Hattery to see if they have any leftover Federations in black is a good one. Their customer service is top-notch.

I remember learning that here. M, you know more than most -- did Akubra ever make black Campdrafts?

Not that I recall. They had several different browns.
