Just picked these up. 50% and free shipping. Definitely close enough for me for that price.

Darthbauer, are you going to beat 'em up so they look like they've been on some adventures?Darthbauer wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 3:03 pm Just picked these up. 50% and free shipping. Definitely close enough for me for that price.

The waxy commander looks like a waxed suede so the leather doesn’t have the same smoothness of the Aldens or the previous Parkhurst leather options. I kind of like the other pair that Khanvader posted earlier which could be a dead ringer for an Aldens variant.IndianaJustin wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2024 1:45 pm These just dropped:

Then again the waxed suede gives off a more distressed look I suppose. Reminds me of the behind the scenes photos of the Dial boots when we were trying to identify them.

Re: All of the "Close Enough" Boots?
Nice, I like the pattern on the leather. In really cold winters Indy boots would not work too well anyway. They are not very well insulated. Plus...they might be quite slippery on ice and snow.Manwiththehat wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 2:35 pm Probably a bit to far from looking like aldens but this is the Rieker boots I'm gonna use this winter( gets Really cold here)

I wonder why no one has mentioned the Luojiet boots before.
You can buy them here:
https://www.luosjiet.com/
Using them now for half a year and am very pleased how they look and feel now.

Re: All of the "Close Enough" Boots?
Yes, I really like them.
Currently heavily Field testing them on Sicily, Italy while being on vacation.
So I am literallily following Indy‘s foot steps with them.
Fun fact:
I always wondered, why Harrison has kinda funny running style in the Indy movies.
Now I know. It’s because of these boots.
Them being quite solid = not the lightest, piece of boots, you have to overcome some force when running.
That leads to this funny running style.
At least for me.

They look so beautiful in the sun. And the fact that you are in Sicily is awesome, enjoy your time!MichaelSop wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 9:56 am Yes, I really like them.

Yeah, running in boots is not easy. When they are new and stiff it's down right painful, once they soften up, they are clunky, so still a challenge.

They knew what they were knocking off. There’s I guess what some would call Easter eggs on the inside of the box, like a treasure map and one of the things on the map says professor or something like itTardis1711 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 6:00 pmThose look pretty close to the aldensDarthbauer wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 3:20 pm Here’s the banana republic ones I got after a bit of weathering

The original Diplomat that was released in, maybe 2015 was a near Alden clone-other than the number of eyelets I believe. Wish I’d tried a pair before they went with the current design.

Parkhurst boots has a good reputation. The color maybe slightly off, but I like 'em!

Re: All of the "Close Enough" Boots?
I really like how they look as well.
I tried to figure out if Parkhurst had a storefront, since I'm in the Buffalo area and it would have been nice to visit an actual location to see the product in person. It seems they are just online orders though. Even asked a guy at my church who is a big boot aficionado and he hadn't heard of any in person locations that sold Parkhurst boots. On their web page they say you can visit a shoe repair store- "Local and traveling customers may make appointments to try on and purchase footwear by reaching out via email and meeting up at our local partner shoe repair shop here in Buffalo." Doesn't say which shoe repair store though and there are a number in Buffalo Guess it's just up to online orders or getting an appointment at the aforementioned unnamed shoe repair store for those who want a pair of these fine looking boots.

These are not like the Wested Adventurer boots. These LuosJiets are true quality and have a solid build. Looking forward to working them in.
These are the Luosjiet Indiana Jones MocToe Boot in Brown Grain Cowhide. The boots are size 41 and fit perfect.(Nike sneakers are size 42 for me)
Cheers to All!

I’m a 14 in most athletic shoes… my Alden’s are 13B’s.
