I had my local leather shop make my whip holder and I discovered that the single most important thing to do is base the size of whip holder on the size of the coiled whip. By that I mean, it's no good having a whip holder exactly like Indy's if your own whip slips and slides about the place - my advice is it has to be functional and custom-fit for your whip.
