Did your jacket come distressed like that out of the box? It seems to have some sanding or something on the seams.

Yes, it's a lightly distressed "Main Hero" jacket in the new chocolate ribby lambskin from France. Diego does all of the distressing on the leather before any stitching is done to avoid compromising the integrity of the jacket.

If you're going to do it or get it done (distressing), THAT'S the way to do it! :M:

I've read too many horror stories over the past decades of this hobby of that activity compromising threads and jackets eventually tearing or falling apart from the abrasion. Not a whole lot of advice one can offer someone when that happens. Once it's been done, there's no turning back.

Yeah, I agree I was thinking way back when I got my Wested Jacket I wanted to do some distressing saw some guides, and saw how many ways it could have gone horribly wrong and that scared the @#$% out of me so I abandoned that idea. I leave it to the professionals like Diego with my Cazadora 36 I'll see in a month or two.

Anyone have pics of an extra grainy cowhide Cazedora? Would be curious. Also what're the differences between the Imam and the Truck chase jackets? Pics?

I've never posted here before but I couldn't resist showing of my new Raiders jacket. It's a Cazadora '36 hero in lightly distressed chocolate cowhide, size 40. The leather is soft, and for all the fit idiosyncrasies of the screen-accurate Raiders cut I think it works surprisingly well as a modern jacket. It even smells great.

Diego was easy to communicate with during the process. This thing is going to look great with some age on it, I think.

Been out of the game for a pretty long time (I gave my last jacket away to a friend probably 6 or 7 years ago now), but I just submitted measurements for a S&J 36 truck jacket and I'm pretty dang pumped!!

Looks beautiful mate! Out of curiosity did you get the thicker cowhide, or thinner standard? I got mine in the thick, and am debating now whether I want a thin cow or not?

Thanks! I'd say a little less heavy in weight. The drape is very similar.

Yes the drape is similar to thin lamb, but the thin cowhide is thinner than westeds authentic lamb, but because it's cowhide it's more durable. Which is also the beauty of it.

Wonder if they'll put D Rings and Temple of Doom sized pockets on a Raiders Jacket.

Would you post more pics of your thin cow here , new thread or PM me.

Finally, after long months of waiting, my first S&J Cazadora 36 has arrived! I was impressed by the quality, truly amazing. The only thing I wanted it little slim fit but maybe I exaggerated.. Let's say that with a big sweater it is not very comfortable, I hope that with wear it will expand a little (it is a size 38).. I wasn't interested in looking too movie accurate, so I had D rings put on instead of the classic ones, like more DoD style. Let me know what you think overall!

Hello - This is my S&J Cazadora '36 that I ordered and received in late 2022. Made of the ribby lamb. These are the original pics Diego sent. Just never got around to posting until now. I love it.
