My first cardigan and scarf for a MotB look

Post by bearbeast »

For a long while I had been looking for an affordable shawl cardigan to use under my jacket in the winter. Last November I finally found a really cheap one on ebay, which claimed to be cotton.

It's not the right colour, but I like the beige very much. Also on ebay I found some cashmere scarfs, which I got in dark brown (to contrast the cardigan) and in camel, which looked more screen accurate to my eyes.

It's really comfy and quite warm.

Here it is paired with the two scarfs:

And together with my Wested Horsehide jacket this has been my go to attire for this winter (without the Indy pants though).

Nice choices. I like the lighter color of the cardigan contrasting with the color of your jacket.

Thank you, Jeff! :TOH: I really like the light - dark combo, too. It works better than dark brown cardigan - dark jacket somehow.

Yes I like the contrasting colors.
Vaboom has other colors too, and the brown a close enough.
Been wearing it every day and at work.

But you my friend have a great look going on.

Thank you very much, Croft! :TOH: Really do like this setup for the cold days. Always feeling ready for adventure.

At some point I would like Magnoli's version of the cardigan... But at the moment my funds are going to other stuff. :-

Had to go on a business-trip to Germany last week, where it was quite cold, so I got a chance to wear my MotB gear:

The hat is a FedIV, the boots are Wested, the jacket is the HH Wested. Cardigan and scarf are generic eBay finds, like I mentioned above.

Such a nice look! I'm starting to wear things like that more and more as I get over my fear of seeming too geeky. It's such a practical outfit I think. :TOH:

Thanks, IndianaJustin! :TOH:

I was really selfconscious when I started wearing hats, a few years back. Felt super awkward. Now I feel naked without an Indy lid. :rolling: Anyway, in this modern day people wear way more weird items of clothing than our Indygear.

I think it's awesome you are dressing the way you want. Glad to hear you are putting away the fear. Took me some years to do it... :- Now I feel very confident just knowing I am doing whatever I want.

Looking great bearbeast, ironically, I wear gear everyday and look just like you do.
No scarf as I like my Shmegma military scarf.
Love wearing gear, hey we spend good money on stuff that is basically every day clothes.
Not like you can walk around wearing a spider man suit. :rolling:

Thanks, Croft! :D

Yup, I love wearing and using all my Indy gear, too. I think the Spider-man suit would be too much for work meetings. :rolling:

Indy is the best 24/7 cosplay opportunity!

Used to love shemaghs in my college years. Had a few and almost never left home without one. Not sure when the switch to scarfs happened. I think I got a scarf as a gift one time and started using it more... :-k
