New Steele & Jones ribby Lamb 44

Post by rbxb »

Well boys and girls. I sold 2 original Cooper Indiana Jones and a Wested Hero shrunken Lamb (ordered new) recently and found a '36 Cazadora in ribby chocolate Lambskin on Fleabay. For all I know it's from somebody on here..??
I communicated with Diego and was going to order a Thin Cowhide as I cant fit the S&J Lamb in my budget. (may still).
I can attest to the great communication with S&J. They have been very fast with responses to my questions.
For now I wait for my first S & J with great eagerness. I've had a bajillion Wested's and Cooper Indy Jackets. Loved them all but as we all know there's always some detail a little off keeping it from your "IT" jacket.
High hopes for this S & J as I checked and triple-checked the measurements down to the minor details..
I may have to shorten the sleeves but expect all else to be darn close. It'll get me through this coming winter. Wish me luck.
details :
CAZADORA '36 -Raiders-
Leather: "Chocolate Grainy Lambskin"
Size: 44. ~ should be right I wear a 44R suit or blazer
NOTES:
The TRUCK HERO jacket style
Hardware: black buckles w/2 prongs BRITISH - silver snaps - nickel zipper (original)
Lining: dark brown lightweight polyester (original). ~ and YES.... I WANTED the polyester lining
Not-distressed. ~ Check. I do my own thanks
Pit to Pit: 24". ~ I would likely order a 23 pit but we'll see
Sleeve length: 25". ~ I need to ultimately end up with a 23.75" Sleeve
Back length: 25.5". ~ Check
Front length: 24". ~ Check
Sleeves at elbow: 7.5". ~ prefer 7" or less
Sleeves at cuff 5.5". ~ prefer 5" or less

Will update when it gets here..

btw. What does the tag number # 179 mean?

The #179 means the 179th jacket made… (Diego will have to confirm if that’s overall or just Raiders “Cazadora ‘36” jackets).

Nice find! It could be the '36 numbering, mine's #375

Exactly. Overall.

Our order numbers are consecutive.
It doesn't matter the jacket style.
Assigned in chronological order to the date of deposit.

# 179
Ordered: Dec 28, 2018
Jacket completion: Oct 15, 2019 (kinda birth date... )
**** The long pause was due to the customer choosing to wait for the new batch of Lambskin to arrive.
# 179 - Details:
Raiders "TRUCK HERO" style
Size: 44
NOTES:
Hardware: black buckles w/2 prongs BRITISH - silver snaps - nickel zipper
Lining: dark brown lightweight polyester
Distressing: take a bit of shine
Back lenght: 25.5"
Front lenght: 24"

Cheers.-

Once again Indiego you offer the best customer service possible! Thanks for chiming in with this information. It's this kind of service after the sale and customer support that wins my business. Rest assured my next brand new Indiana Jones jacket will be thru Steele & Jones. I still have my sights on a Temple of Doom style with D Rings.

It arrived today..

It is the best Indiana Jones jacket I've owned.
Steele & Jones absolutely nail it!!
The grainy Lambskin is to die for. It is lightweight and the softest, most buttery, supple leather I've owned.
I was right the 25" sleeves were a bit long but .....

......I took a shower in it getting the sleeves the wettest. Threw it in dryer on medium..
Had to rewet the sleeves as this thing repels water (that's a good thing).
Tomorrow I'll hit it with Lexol Leather conditioner thoroughly to restore any oil lost during washing.

In summary, Steele & Jones is heads above all others. I couldn't be happier with my new hide.. Pics coming. :whip:
Thanks to all for the continuing education regarding my/our quest for that holy grail of Indy jackets.

Entirely agreed on the Steele and Jones being the best jacket out there to wear/own...I have their Truck Chase jacket, with distressing and it's easily the comfiest I have...The jacket looks like it's been through a LOT too, and I guess it has now, after 3-4 years of wear, but even brand new it looked perfectly "old"

They are the best jackets out there.
