Hi!
I have a Wested LC in Original Lambskin that I'm in the process of distressing. Similar to several people on the forum, I was disappointed by the gray undertones and would like some recommendations on a leather dye. I just tried FurnitureClinic in dark brown and that stuff is so good that it looks exactly as before the distressing.... kind of defeating the purpose.
Any recommendation would be appreciated!
Thank you!

Well you have to go lighter than the top coat, which is a dark brown. Dark brown on dark brown defeats the purpose. The LC jacket had a sort of orange, rusty undertone. So get whatever dye you'd like, just make it lighter and/or redder. And if you have to, mix two dyes; maybe a medium or light brown with a touch of red.

When I needed to paint in some undertones I used Fiebings 'Dark Brown' leather dye, which didn't look dark brown at all, but a lighter orangey brown. Maybe I got a dud bottle of that, but it turned out useful for lighter undertones. So anyway the point being you may need to buy some leather dye. Buy the shade you want it to look.

Fiebings Leather Dye's the one id use if you can get it. use the dye not the cream version ...

Fiebing's colour descriptions can be hit and miss (dark brown is more like a medium brown) - but in their regular leather dye range 'Russet' works well for an LC undertone and a mix of Russet and light Brown gives a nice tone too.
