Need help with Holster modification

Post by IndyBlues »

I bought this holster off of Ebay a few months ago, with the intent of making it into a proper Indy style holster.

It has a great weathered look, and I believe it is the right size and dimensions for an Indy pistol.
As you can see, it needs a fastener added, to bring it up to par.
I was thinking I could just replace the snaps, with the necassary parts, and adding a leather strap to complete the look.

Now, can someone help point me in the right direction to find said parts?
It would be greatly appreciated.

To be honnest, Blues. I wouldn't do a thing. It's perfect the way it is. True, it's not screen accurate but it's better then close enough.

I agree with Ren. Keep it as it is. It's a cool holster! You could also get a replica Webley holster for about 30 bucks from International Military Antiques (do a google search and you'll find it) which would work perfectly for Last Crusade, or you could try to mod that holster, instead.

It's kinda tricky to find, sinse they recently changed their website, so here's a direct link:

If you click on the Sam Browne belt, you can see an illustration of what the holster looks like. I got a repro WWII S&W Victory holster from them and am very happy with it, so I'm sure the Webley hoslter is just as good. And for the money, you can buy two of them for less than a single Keppler. (I'm not knocking the Keppler by any means, but if you're budget conscious, the Webley holster is a good option.)

Thanks for tips guys. It is very cool the way it is, but I wouldn't mind finding out how hard, or easy it would be to try this modification.
As you can see from my recent Wested distress job, and my Aldens project, I love to tinker.
Dang, why can't I just leave well enough alone??

Probably becasue "well enough" keeps taunting me.

I agree that the holster (looks really good!) need the strap to be complete - in Raiders-style that is.
It is quite easy to alter it, and any leather-store could supply You
with the few things missing.

Good luck on Your project!

Best regards
