Did the Raiders hat ever have a liner?

Post by 3thoubucks »

Considering that the 2018 Prop Store auction showed the size 7 1/4 stamped in gold ink with a circle around it on the felt just above the sweatband? I've owned a lot of fur felt HJ's with just a 2x3 inch satin HJ badge glued to the top of crown. Has anyone EVER seen an HJ with a gold size stamped on the felt? ..THERE'S your Holy Grail.

I think it's possible that Nadoolman asked for the hat to come without a liner to allow better ventilation. Knowing that filming would be taking place in Hawaii and Tunisia, heat would be an issue. I think it's also a possibility that the liner was pulled out in Tunisia and then the stamp was added later by the prop department. I don't think we will ever know the answer to this one, but it's certainly fun to think about.
