Over the last 18 mos I’ve manage to get very lean, and my head size got a lot smaller too! I have two fedoras from advintage. The Harrison is 59 and the SOC decent custom is 58.8.
Today after my short haircut I measure 56.5. It was right at 57 last week with normal length sides though. I was looking at another fedora from Thomas but only thing available is 57.5. I’ve got several layers of cork or foam around front and back of my two fedoras but it’s not really gonna hold in any wind.
Well problems to have! Not sure if I should go with a 57 even though with a “2” on the side haircut has me at 56.5 and would a 57.5 being 1cm loose and I’d still need cork??
Now what to do with these other two fedoras? I don’t want to fit back into them )
Cheers!
Lost weight/head shrunk, advintage fedoras too big now :-(

Put some newspaper all around inside the sweatband to decrease the size until it fits. Bonus points if you find a newspaper from 1936 for cheap and use that.

I used to take scissors to a worn out necktie and put a piece from the narrow end behind the sweatband to reduce the size slightly.

You could always get it reblocked.

I’m thinking about just ordering some new one’s vs a re block. I guess I could stuff the liner to drop down two sizes.

Congrats on the weight loss!
I think 1 cm is not THAT much if you decide to get the 57.5 hat. You can also use some self adhesive foam inside the sweatband. Fed IVs ship with such foam and it works great.
For the hats you have already, like the guys have said: they are definitely worth reblocking!
Cheers,
Bear

That's awesome, man. Congrats on the weight loss. I have also lost about 60lbs in the last nine months since starting intermittent fasting and have found that my hats are loose now. As some have stated, some fabric between the sweatband and the crown will fix you up if it isn't too much of a difference. Otherwise it will need to be relocked.

I was unaware, other than getting a nice haircut, that you could lose that much space on the circumference around your head with weight loss!! Congrats!

Reblock wasn’t really an option so I sent them off to other adventurers on the forum. I already ordered a grey fedora and waiting for more Harrison’s to arrive.
I need a new jacket as well, got a size 46 in the bazaar.
