Indy Magnoli Spectacles

Post by joeyofarimathea »

got my 1st pair of Indy Spectacles. These just arrived today via lightning quick shipping.

so heres my initial thoughts out of the box....they came with very solid and secure packaging. they also included a lens cloth with matching hard shell case (which was a classy touch).

a big thank you to Indy Magnoli for making this happen.....thank you kindly!

They are cool, aren't they? I ordered a pair shortly after Mag started selling them - just to see what they were like. I am sure glad I did. Shortly after receiving them my old British Optical frames began to fray apart on the skull pieces (arms leading to ears). Thus, I didn't have to spend a couple of hundred dollars for replacement pieces due to having the new ones from Mag. I later ended up ordering a second pair for sunglass lenses. Very happy with the two and have been using now for about five years or so. No complaints here. Plus, dealing with Magnoli has always been a sure deal with me regardless of what I have ordered :TOH: ! W>

So are you planning on having prescription lens put in?
I have the sun glasses and love em.
But alway wanted a pair to have lenses put in.
But was nervous they wouldn’t do it.

They are nice look8ng.

I think it should be no issue, Croft. My dad is a bit excentric about his frames and the local optometrist always finds a way to fit the lenses in whatever frames he brings. And this is Romania, at a very small optometrist's office. You should have no issue in the US. :TOH:

Croft: Just noticed your post here on these -- Yes, I have prescription lenses in both pair of mine! Not a problem what so ever. They (Dr's office folks) were just disappointed that I didn't want to buy new frames from them, but otherwise no issues! W>

Yea.....no kidding the frames is where their cost margins are probably the biggest. Its kinda like when you order just the entree at a restaurant. The mark up is tremendous....nothing wrong with mark up but also nothing wrong with ordering al le carte once in a while either....

Regards, joey

Ps- I will eventually try to get lenses put in my extremely nice Magnoli Indy Frames. I will update when / if I do...

Well I did in fact recently have to go back for the old eye exam, which I knew I'd needed a new prescription.
While there I brought in my IM sunglasses and asked if it was possible to put the new prescription in them and they said yes. \:D/

So I did.

Took this one at a air port bathroom, nice lighting.

Mr Magnoli ... quick question Sir?

I have used a pair of these for two years as my work spectacles and sadly on Friday the LH spring hook broke. I'm not sure why, tho they are used everyday but was wondering if I can I purchase a replacement leg or is it a whole new frame do you know?...

Thanks bearbeast, the glass are nice and the price is more reasonable than the real thing.
Will probably pick up another pair for the future.

As far as the jacket, thanks again, there’s a whole story on this one.

And Mr Character, will be interested in the response. Ya never know.

I've had 3 pairs of these glasses one 2 sun one clear...2 from the original release, one I lost several years ago and was great no problems
The other in the original release I put in prescription lenses 2-3 years ago and had a screw come out that I had to replace, no issues since
the last pair I got about a year ago I have a lens that got loose for no reason I can tell about a month ago that I noticed while cleaning...still don't care love every pair of these glasses.

Now that I need readers, I really want a pair of these. Anybody know anyone who would do progressive lenses with no prescription in the top and like +1.25 or so in the bottom? Or should I just ask my eye dr?

Unfortunately, I don't think we have any spare parts for these save a few screws and nose pads.
