WESTED!!! Stop Wasting Money
Sorry controversy comrads -- No slam here. Just got my Wested Shirt and pants and I am beside myself with satisfaction. PLEASE DO NOT do what I have been doing... Quit spending your money on substitutes. I must have half a dozen Cabbelas, L.L.Beans and etc. etc. If Indy is what you want then Indy is what you get with the Wested garments. I just put on these fine handcrafted clothes and my blood rushed like it hasn't rushed since the first time the boulder chased our hero. Now I have to ad a Wested jacket to my FS. I am soooo gratful for everything I learn from all of you and just wanted to ad my review. WELL WORTH THE MONEY and I got it in less than a week.

I managed to pick up a wested while i was in england this past week and I have to say, it is a perfect Indy shirt. I love the way it feels, I love the way it looks, and I love the way it wears. I really can't praise this shirt highly enough, and the quality of the crafstmanship is superb and well worth the price I paid for it. I didn't have enough money to get the pants, but I plan on orderign a pair as soon as is humanly possible.

I’m sure the Wested Pants and shirt set are great. But sometimes I need alternatives because I wear a variation of Gear EVERY day. (I don’t own a single pair of Jeans).
Someday I’ll get the shirt and pants, but for variety and price I have to stick with LL. Beans. Their pants last longer then any other brand I’ve owned.

My pref. is to have a tailor cuff my pants so I can get the drape to my exact liking. If I had ordered my normal length (32") then it 'MAY' have looked great or it may have been too long or short --for my taste-- with these particular trousers. They are a baggy cut to begin with and I simply had no experience of how they would hang so I ordered them with no hem. As it turned out I had them tailored to 33 1/4 " with a 3" hem to give it some weight.

Ren;
I agree with you on having selection. I have two pairs of L.L.Beans and I love them. I just really wanted a pair of these Westeds so I saved up and got'em. Just before this I found a GREAT pair of trousers at Burlington. What sold me on that pair was the weave of the fabric -- it matches the wested pants almost exactly and they were only $20. I bought the longest pair I could find and paid the tailor $15. two use the extra material to make two flaps to my specs for the open back pockets. They are a really close match to the westeds and in my opinion the flaps look more like ROTLA than the Westeds-- I think Wested had to keep everyone happy so the flaps on theirs are sort of this generic Indyish kand'a thingy. Other than that the wested pants are great and take a beating. By the way -- the Shirt looks better tailored too. And my Cabbelas is a very good substitute.

Renderking,
I may have misread your earlier post. When you said you don't own a single pair of jeans I thought you meant you don't wear the same pair every day so why would you wear just one pair of Indy trousers.... My bad. In re-reading the post I think you meant, (exactly what you said) that you don't even have a pair of jeans --- It's all IndyGear all the time. I hope I got it right this time and I need to pay more attention when I read.
