I decided to plait a few whips for my own use, some stockwhips and an Indy bullwhip. Here it is:

- 8.5ft Indy whip;
- classic construction - shot loaded core (lead and steel shot), lead loaded handle, 2 bellies, 1 bolster, 12 plait overlay;
- darker ringknot typical for Raiders look.

Looks great, it gives me some Joe Strain vibes.

Thanks guys!

It was a shame not to have any of my own whips so I decided to braid an Indy whip, a single stockwhip and a pair of stockwhips :CR:

Well, you HAVE to own your own brand! It's so satisfying using a whip you made yourself. Totally different experience than cracking a bought whip. :TOH:

First whip in 2023 - classic 10ft Indy bullwhip in brown.

Usual specs of shot loaded core, lead foundation on an 8 inch spike, two bellies and 1 bolster covered by 12 plait overlay.

One unusual feature is the cord used for the buttknot. It's 10 mm wide while the overlay strands are 12 mm wide (pre stretching). I think it makes a better, cleaner knot, with not so much overlapping.

Happy cracking in 2023!

Looking good. The three pass heel knot looks great in nylon! :TOH:

Thanks guys.

I always admired Ben Scott's heelknots as they were super clean with no overlapping strands. I still need to learn a bit how to do it.
