Alden 405/3 Indy boots (general questions

hello again and greetings to all my fellow Raider-ers,

im new and old here again. i seem to come around like a plague (about every 12 years or so-lol). anyway a few questions.....

1-Is it still the general rule to order aldens (used or new)about a half size down from your normal tennis shoe size?

2-Is the 403 boot considered the SA brown to get?

3- Does anyone know if Leather Soul or AB or if anyone does a custom vintage repro or if there are any vintage runs in the works?

any help is greatly appreciated.

1) 0.5 or 1 size down, it depends, and there will always be variations of sizing with handmade shoes.

2) 405s tend to be a bit more red nowadays, while 403s are a bit darker brown than normal Indy. I would recommend going through eBay and waiting to find a pair in your size and color preference. I’ve also heard that new Alden’s have quality control issues, with eBay or Facebook groups, you know what to expect.

3) AB got them pretty spot on, besides that I would just do eBay or Facebook like I said.

I take a 9.5 in redwings and a 9 in Alden’s. Go figure. I just got these second hand on Grailed.

I’m pretty sure the website is www.Grailed.com. There is only one pair on there now. Another website is poshmark (https://poshmark.com). There is a couple of pair on there.
