Raiders Gloves - sizing detail?

I noticed that the Raider's gloves say "Large" across the wrist, but I haven't seen this detail in any reproductions. Does anyone have more information about the original gloves and/or why this detail doesn't make it onto replicas?

Bryan Long on Facebook makes gloves with the Large stamp.
