Weekend photoshoot and cracking

Post by bearbeast »

Though there was a heatwave this weekend I got to have some fun.

I took a pic of all my different sized whips, really love the way it looks:

And I took some videos of me cracking each of the whips:

Awesome collection!

I wonder what is the smallest possible size of whip which still cracks :-k

Thank you, Tomek! I think any smaller than the one I have (quarter scale) wouldn't crack. It is already quite light and short, feels like the limit. :-k

That 1/4 scale whip is great! I have a pocket bull that is a lot of fun, but those scaled whips are something else!

Thanks, Magnoli! Yeah, I really love it, too. Made it three years ago, just for fun and it's ended up being in my pocket whenever I leave the house. It has also travelled with me everywhere.

Nice collection. Three foot snake whips are common and crack easily. What is the actual length of the quarter scale whip?

Thanks, Indiana Jeff! The quarter scale bullwhip is just shy of 90 cm (2.95 feet). It cracks nicely, if you put some force behind it, as it is very thin. (about 9.5 mm at its thickest point)

I think the three feet snakewhips are thicker so the weight and taper help them crack with more ease.

Cheers,
Bear
