HAT POSTITIONING
I did some searching, found some ideas, but none that answered my question.
When I put my new Advantage on, the natural shape of the sweat band let’s the pinch of center, so the pinch is off to one side.
Turn it a 1/4” and it’s perfect.
Would wetting the sweat band some (not soaked through) put it on, turn it to ware I want it, wear it till it drys, would this work?
Sorry no pictures this time.

I’m not trying to be funny.
I just don’t understand what your sweatband and pinch have in relation to each other.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you saying that the pinch is off from the geometric center of the oval? It should be that way on a turned hat, no?

Re: HAT POSTITIONING
Just being funny that's all, as most of my post's have some picture or two or five
IJJTM :
I've really been enjoying this one.
jlee562 :
There up close so I'm including one I took out side when i first received it, and centered.
out side and back further.
It might just be me, I was just wondering if it's possible to mold the sweat band. That's all. Haven't sweated much in this, so the sweat band hasn't shrunk any and I'm trying to do it before it does.
Croft
PS: and jlee562 you were sorta instrumental in my decision on ordering a hat with no turn.
Even if the 1st two pic's look like there is.
IJJTM :
Nothing really, I was just wondering if wet the sweat band I could help mold it to align with center pinch every time I put it on with out have to shift the hat. It's not much and maybe it's just me being over critical of how the hat looks while wearing it.I just don’t understand what your sweatband and pinch have in relation to each other.

jlee562 :
Actually this SoC is not turned. The below pictures as requested do show the pinch off set to the center of my face, but like I said, not by much.I'm not sure I understand the question. Re: HAT POSTITIONING
Would simply wearing the hat a lot with the pinch centered help the sweatband conform to the shape of your head?
Re: HAT POSTITIONING
That’s worked for me in the past.Howard Weinstein wrote:Would simply wearing the hat a lot with the pinch centered help the sweatband conform to the shape of your head?

Re: HAT POSTITIONING
Well, if the pinch is off center from the geometric middle of the oval, you've got a turned hat anyways. If the whole crease has shifted off center, you sure can correct that by wearing it more and steaming it before plopping on your head. I don't think wetting the sweat is necessarily the best solution.

Re: HAT POSTITIONING
Yeah, I would not recommend wetting the sweatband. Just get a hat stretcher and line up the turnbuckle with the pinch at the angle you want and put a little light pressure on it and leave for a few days. Nothing major to stretch the hat, just reset the oval.

Re: HAT POSTITIONING
I was thinking above the hat stretcher, would a little steam help too?
And I wore outside today while shoveling, sweated some, and wore awhile.
And this summer I plan to wear it a lot while sweating.
And there truly is no turn to this hat, nothing like a traditional SoC from Thomas.
Time will tell.
May try a little steam and set the block, what'll be hard is not wanting to put it on in the morning.

Re: HAT POSTITIONING
I see it! I've gotten some that a few times.
Anyhow, I agree about wearing it with the pinch lined up how you want it. Then when you take it off, while sweatband is still warm from wearing, put in an the stretcher for a while. Same if you wear it in the rain.
