Tips on de-shrinking Wested Pants?

Post by baddates1 »

Soooooo I'm an idiot and machine washed my Wested pants. *cue Homer Simpson 'd'oh soundbite*

I've read on a few places you can de-shrink them, but before I go experimenting in that regard, does anyone here have any tips?

There are tips online for stretching shrunk wool I imagine you've already seen.
Begin by soaking the wool in a bath of warm water and baby shampoo or hair conditioner, then take the wool out and gently stretch it manually to get it to its original dimensions. In less than twenty minutes your garment should be back to its normal size and look as good as new.
Though I've never had any success in stretching wool. In fact, a pair of my Indy trousers were washed by accident and I lost length.
Fortunately they still fit otherwise and there was enough material in the cuff (they weren't military cut) so I had them rehemmed to get the length back.
