New STEELE & JONES Raiders Ordered

Post by baddates1 »

Welp, I guess I broke down and made my wallet ask my why I am the way I am  After not being satisfied with the fit of my Wested LC or my G&B I got secondhand, I finally ordered a S&J Raiders Truck Chase in thin Cow.

Now for the waiting game... :[

You will love the thin cow. I love my 36 Hero! Fits like a glove. Also, If Diego offers you a cloth mockup to confirm fit, I would pay for the upgrade. It is very much worth it!

Do you have pics? Would love to see :D

Thanks guys! I didn't know Diego offered cloth samples for fittings. Might have to keep an eye out for that. I did however request medium distressing, with room for my to put my own unique touches on it.

Since last year, we have a new service.
The MOCK-UP jacket.
It's a tryout jacket.

For USD 65.-(shipping included) we can make a cotton tryout jacket, in the measurements we might be considering.
(It's an unfinished denim white jacket. Only purpose is sizing setting. Not a wearable jacket)

This helps a lot to set sizing and measurements.

We came up with this new service after some orders that was too difficult to determine the correct size combined with the customer's fit preferences.

Cheers.-

EXCELLENT!!! :M:

Wish that had been available back when we were working on mine, as until I got mine, I had forgotten to ask you to take into consideration the fact I wear my cell phone on my belt, which adds a bit more 'girth' to the waist line.

No biggie, as I just put my phone in my pocket when wearing my S&J, but it would have been apparent with a try out jacket!

GREAT idea!!

Well having a mock up is certainly more cost effective than the route I took with Wested years ago. I got the cotton Raiders and basically used it as a toile to dial in my measurements for a custom and was able to nail it. Only cost me like $150.

But going from there, and several other Indy jackets I own, I was able to get a perfect jacket from Diego later on. This option sort of cuts out the middle man, especially if you've never had an Indy jacket before and don't really understand the measurements.

Yeah, I took up the mock-up Diego offered I think he is making right now atm but imo it’s a great idea so we all can get that perfect sizing!

There are several details to take into account, when setting size and measurements

First, what we have as starting point, is Harrison Ford size jacket. On every style.
From that, we have to increase or decrease the sizing, of course, proportionally.
Chest size, weight and height, are the most important specs at this stage.
But also, physical unique proportions of the wearer.
Like arms length, shoulders width, waist circumference, etc.

Then comes customer's fitting preferences.
This might affect overall accurate look of the jacket.
But are clients choices. So, must be considered.

To nail all this features, at distance, is extremely challenging.

The MOCK-UP service works very nice to help on the measurements decisions.

The mission is to make the most perfect jacket for each, and everyone.

Cheers.-

Ooft! I'm so behind on things!

Here she is in all her beautiful, BEAUTIFUL glory!!! My Truck Chase in THICK Cowhide, medium weathering.

Image

I am beyond blown away by the attention to craftsmanship, detail, and regular communication from Diego. Just gob smacked at how well this turned out.

I recieved this a couple months ago, and instead of posting on here like a good boy, I was too busy drooling over it to do anything about it. Sorry to all your jacket-porn viewers, it had to wait.
The only thing I would change on it (if I were to do it all over again) is I'd stick with the light cowhide I originally went with. About halfway down the line, I decided to go further and request a thick leather, which Diego graciously obliged. The only reason I say I'd change that is because it's a very heavy jacket. Perfect for Fall-Winter weather, though Spring and Early Fall may be a little challenging. You'll end up sweating more =P~

Anyways, I am so pleased with this, and will absolutely go to Steele and Jones again in the future!
