My Wested Custom Hybrid Raiders/ Minority Report Jacket!!

Post by mechinyun »

Well after quite a bit of time the jacket is finally complete!! Super kudos to Wested for going above and beyond in customer service.

The jacket is outstanding.

Its a Raiders in the back and a minority report in the front.

Here are the specs:

Leather: Goatskin

Color: Black

Zipper: 8 gauge nickel zipper. Track to extend almost to the bottom of the jacket hem and be on Right Hand side.

Back panel: Top of panel extends all the way out to the inside edge of the sleeve seam.

Side straps: Rectangular slides, gun metal/black color Straps are sewn under the seam, not above. (I know all about it why this is not normal, but I prefer the look of not having the straps sewn on the outside on top.)

Side Vents “open out in the classic "V" shape without much effort. Leaving some stitching out so that they work in the same way as Ford's did originally.

Action Pleats with elastic

Pockets: 2 inside pockets, 1 "grail” style on right hand side of jacket inside with small strong zipper.

Arm gussets

Jacket Length: Additional 1 inch length in total front side of jacket

Minority report style hand warmer pockets, placed further back on the sides (almost invisible when looked at head on.)

Minority report style collar.

Sleeves are tapered a bit at the cuff due to my small wrist sizie.

PICTURES! (it looks a bit shiney due to the pecards jelly dressing currently on it)

Wested should make this a regularly cataloged/available item, this looks like a very functional motorcycle jacket. I'd like to see a pic of you (someone) wearing it too.

That looks like a very cool custom jacket mechinyun, very nice indeed.

Is it for use as a biking jacket?

-This is actually the same configuration I thought about on my next Wested and the pictures show me, that this looks just great. Screen accurate or not, but I think it just looks better.

I have slowly started to make some notes regarding my next Raiders Jacket - which I probably won't order until next year, but it DOES take quite some time for a guy from the Fedora section to figure all the possibilities I didn't think about on my first order.

Kudos on the jacket.

Regards,

Marc

What fedora are you going to wear it with?

Hey guys!! Glad you all like it!!

Yup, I do own a motorcycle, a ducati I posted a thread back in january annoucing the project with some pictures of my bike etc, a quick search will bring it up along with quite a few humorous replys to my idea.

I wanted to inject some originality into the design, a bit of the ole' thinking outside the box if you will.

I will try and snap a few pictures wearing it, to get a better idea of how it looks when its in use.

Are the barrel sleeve/cuffs going to give you any problems if you wear that riding your motorcycle? Looks to me like you're in for a beating with the wind going up your sleeves out your neck, or will scoop just about any bug/bird that may be passing by. :-k Just curious. Regards. Michaelson

Naa, no problems, I dont really plan on wearing it while riding. I have a
specficly designed leather riding jacket with armor built in for that.

This jacket is just for everyday type wear, but race inspired! :)

It looks pretty good. But if it's a Minority Report Jacket at the front, why doesn't it have the cut at the 3/4 mark? Or was that something you requested?
