Wested Raiders Hero in dark brown lambskin
yesterday I received this beautiful Wested Raiders Hero in dark brown lambskin from member tomek9210, and it's everything I've wanted in a jacket since I started researching the gear a couple years ago.
my standard fit cowhide is nice, but this lambskin is quite possibly the thinnest and softest leather I've ever felt in my life. the natural wear is beautiful, all I did was use some tan dye to give it a brown tone.
no artificial distressing this time!
I also got one of Azumas Raiders shirts. if you don't already have one of these, treat yourself to one! it's the pinnacle of Indy shirts, but you already knew that. here's some worn shots of the new pieces.
happy 40th Raiders!

Now that is one beautiful jacket. Fits you perfectly.
I did some of the brown dye on my Wested that had grey undertones, and now I wear it.
But your jacket looks awesome.

It is so ill fitting jacket, yet so beautiful
The droopy shoulders are greatly pronounced in this jacket, legacy one is more normal in that manner.

Ohh, interesting, I've been curious about this. For the Legacy, is there still a droop present or are the shoulders looking more like the standard issue?tomek9210 wrote:It is so ill fitting jacket, yet so beautiful

I'd say that it's still there but much less pronounced. I will try finally take some photos of my legacy jacket so you can see it.

Great photos! It fits you perfectly, the drape and bunching in the sleeves looks superb.
Before you added the dye, what did the weathered spots look like? Grey in color?

If it was like mine, yes they were grey toned.
I did the same dye treatment to mine and it made all the difference.
Now I wear it, where before it just hung there and my new truck jacket saw all the action, still does but every so often.

Neomakes, that is one heckuva beautiful jacket. The leather looks so soft and the color is beautiful!

I don't think that authentic brown lambskin is better for the Indy jacket as Wested states. In my opinion dark brown lambskin is much better, it drapes nicer.
Re: Wested Raiders Hero in dark brown lambskin
thanks for all the love gents! I've been wearing this jacket out all weekend and it's quickly become one of my favourite pieces, surpassing being "just" an Indy jacket.
check my post history! anything prior to this is my cowhide jacket.Kokopelli wrote:I would like to see your standard cowhide, too.
makes a huge difference, hey? glad you did it too! such a simple process yet it makes the jacket look so much better.Indiana Croft wrote:I did some of the brown dye on my Wested that had grey undertones, and now I wear it.
