New USWing antique lambskin in production

Post by Michaelson »

Just received this email from David Hack a few moments ago.
US Wings ® found a lost classic Antique Lambskin in two colors Seal Brown and Aged Black and we will be making both with Poly Filled lining.. Note: Our antique lambskin comes with a thin protective coating over the surface which may make the leather look new initially but will break-in and age rapidly as you wear it, giving you that desirable 50 million look! We will also use the same leather to make our new Aged Antique Lambskin A-2 Brown or Black.

Please pass the word because we have already started production.

Regards,

Sarge

A few 'classics' have been found in the USWings warehouse. From David Hack:
Most are aware that the best sought after Indy Jacket was the IVVINC VIN and have been sold out for years and that US Wings had to take them off the US Wings site and have been on back order for years… Your search and long awaited is over! Here is the list of IJVINC Found 4/S 18/M 16/L 17/XL 13/2XL Only a few knew these Indy Jones IJVINC VIN were tucked away!
So, if you've been looking for one of these, a few have been found in the storehouse.

Guess I was out of the jacket search when these popped up. Of course now that I'm perusing again none of the photos people uploaded are there anymore. Curious as to what it looked like.

Confused as I just received this reply from USWings after asking for more info.
Sir

The IJVINC jacket is not available in Seal Brown Antique Lambskin.

Sorry.

Is the proper code IVVINC or IJVINC? Because this is IJVINC, I think

The quotes above came directly from David Hack himself, so that’s the code.

I think the confusion is that Sarge used both codes, and the above poster gave the 2nd code when inquiring.

I emailed again and I think they were confused as they didn't realize they are currently in production. We just have to wait until they're ready to be listed.

Looks like this one might be it!

I like it! A lot.

Edit: Just spoke to Sarge. He said these jackets are done and in-hand. He is only waiting for the labels to complete them. He estimates about 2 weeks for shipping.

I just became the guinea pig! I just ordered one for an everyday wear jacket. He said these went up today and I am the first to order.

Oh wow, that's really nice! Any idea on the cut of the sizing? Shame there's no longs though. My arms need that especially.

Wish they would put some measurements on the site in regards to the actual garment. Curious as to the jacket body and sleeve length. Other pics on the site make them look really long in the body.

Just heard they will be released June 12th 100 at a time with no promise of shipment after each 100 as there is a shortage of Italian leather now.

Sarge didn't give me a number, but said it was shorter than the cape buffalo jacket. <shrug>

This will be an everyday wear for me, so a little longer is better in my case.

Welp.... the price of being a guinea pig on my end, I guess! Still super excited to get the jacket. I expect I will have to get the sleeves shortened (I apparently have stubby arms), but we'll see.

Yeah, sleeve length worries me too. Sometimes they are a bit too long for my liking. Had to sell a Wested lamb once because of that.

As I'm also worried about sleeve length, I emailed Sarge about measurements on XL and 2xl. Waiting to hear back. I love the look of that striated lamb.

Sarge just wrote back, and told me 2xl long. And measurements should be on the site. I had to write back saying there are no longs for this jacket.
Btw I'm 6'4", 225 lbs.

Edit:
Sarge wrote back, I'm confused as I was only asking about striated lamb as I love the look of it. Guess I won't be placing an order until I can find out more info.

RE: Measurements help please on Indy Cooper striated
Hello James, I don’t have any Striated Lambskin Indy Longs on the production list at this time! The hot item in the Indy Line up is the Indy Cape Buffalo with the WW 11 Pockets based on what is seen on the Indy # 5 movie set. We do have all Reg. size in Striated Lambskin Brown and Black But those are changing every day! Your size is a 2X Long for sure…

I just went back to look at the pics of the Cooper Striated jacket and you can definitely see that the length of the jacket is just a couple of inches below the bottom of the front pockets. This length lines up with the other regular length Indy jackets and is definitely NOT the longer extra length jackets they have been producing lately like the Cape Buffalo.

So, this is good news if you are wanting a regular length Indy jacket. This is what I was hoping for.

I just spoke to "Mike" at US Wings and they expect to ship the first batch of jackets this week. I have some travel scheduled on the 26th, and he said I would "for sure" have it before then.

Just what I posted above.... Sarge told me it is shorter than the Cape Buffalo jacket. I'll measure it when I get mine.

As you can see I received cryptic information from Sarge. And a few weeks ago he had told me I was a XL long. I was just asking for measurements, not what he thinks I am or want.
