Ready Made Adventure Shirts (standard sizing) by Magnoli

Post by Indy Magnoli »

We had a few requests... so we're now offering Adventure Shirts in standard (small, medium, large, x-large) sizing:

https://www.magnoliclothiers.com/advent ... p-984.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

These will be kept in stock for immediate shipping and are priced well below our made-to-measure version.

Awesome. I have one of your shirts and the quality of the fabric and the fact that they are long enough to tuck into one’s trousers sells it for me.

Well I’ll will probably check it out as I have to keep my collection going.

recently bought a cotton version from you and while it was up-hill battle on sizing, I’m hoping your going to standard sizing works.
Maybe we’ll see the move over to more of your product.
standard sizing takes a lot of the anxiety of custom off the table.

Question on sizing. I may be entirely crazy but the sleeve sizes don't make sense to me.

I even followed the youtube how to video and my sleeve size is 25-26" measuring from the shoulder seam on a well fitting shirt to my wrist....... but all the sleeve sizes on the shirt are in the 30s.... :-k

These sleeve measurements are typical off-the-rack sizing (so they incorporate half the shoulder width). So if your shirt has a 19" shoulder width and 25.5" sleeves, for example, that would equate to 19"/2 (9.5") plus the 25.5" sleeve = 35". Make sense?

I knew there had to be an explanation! Thanks for the help!

It is a bit confusing since our normal method of measuring is different. Once the new run is complete of ready-made shirts, I'll probably do a remeasure of the four sizes and update our sizing chart to match our usual method.

Just found out that the new run of shirts were finished already, but QC caught them as most of them had some strange staining on them. We'll be doing a new run immediately, but had to purchase more fabric for this. Hoping to have these done in the next week or so. With a bit of luck, we'll be ready to start shipping around the end of this month or early April.

The length will probably be fine, it'd be the sleeve length that would probably be too short.

I'm thinking of grabbing one of the stained shirts, how bad is the staining? I'm fine with some to get a distressed look.

The staining is minimal; basically some pin-head sized dots here are there.

I'll see about getting some extra measurements... the length on these is good and the fit is a medium to slim fit (by modern standards)... certainly not tight, but definitely not baggy either.

Knowing it was a little bit of a crapshoot in terms of what defects might be, I ordered one of these bargain-priced Magnoli factory seconds before they sold out.

When it arrived, upon inspection I found some black spots, lines and smudging along seams and other places on the shirt, and a few "red-ink"-appearing splotches and spots. I figured I'd give spot/stain removal a try, using Amodex Non-toxic Spot Remover.

After applying Amodex according to product instructions, I scrubbed the problem areas with a soft toothbrush, gently scraped spots with a fingernail, and then machine-washed in warm water.

Result: a pleasant surprise! 3 rounds of this process removed pretty much all red and black spots and defects, with no noticeable effect on the color of the shirt. Your mileage may vary, but I thought I'd share my successful salvage experience with the gang here.

Good to know. I suspected most of the staining would be able to be treated/washed out. Unfortunately I waited too long and missed out.
