New Hi Power Clone
Hey Everyone!
Long time no post! I couldn't find anything on this during my cursory search of the boards. In case anyone is looking for a Hi Power clone that won't break the bank check out the TISAS Regent BR9. From what I've found, these could be a great shooter and "close-enough" Indy gun. Since Browning discontinued the Hi Power this would be a pretty cost effective option aside from surplus Hi Powers such as the Kareen from Israel. (I have an Israeli Kareen surplus Hi Power and I love it to death). From the reviews I've read some folks have metallurgy concerns but to be honest, those are from pistols with very high round counts. I'm not the type who can afford to put 6,000 rounds through anything! I am strongly considering one, and if I get one I'll do a full review with pictures if anyone is interested. It appears they've been out a little over a year and most of the stuff I've heard is good. These would be great shooters, especially if you don't want to risk breaking an original.
I'm seeing these on gunbroker with a "Buy It Now" of $489.99.
Here is their website: http://www.trabzonsilah.com/en/firearms/zig-14-black" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Here is a review on them, in case anyone is interested in the little details/specs. https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/blog/g ... -hi-power/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I hope this helps anyone like me who can't get enough of John Browning's designs! (even if not technically called a Hi Power)
Respectfully,
Chris

That's a nice looking pistol. I miss going out for shoots in the desert...

If you ever make your way out to the Northern part of CO I'm happy to take you shooting!

I don't see a price point on this, Chris.

DOH! I thought I forgot something. There are a bunch on gunbroker with a "Buy It Now" of $489.99. Add shipping and transfer fees and still WAY under a Browning or similar old war horse. I am having a really hard time saying no. I need to remember the whole, "don't buy yourself stuff near Christmas" thing.
I'll add the pricing info to the OP.

I like the excuse I’ve seen on a commercial being shown this time of year on our tv......’you’re not buying it for yourself....it’s for the house...’

Well, no.....I mean like when MY bride recently purchased two tea pots SHE liked, then told me 'they were for the house'.

It's been the running joke all season. Anything we pick up WE like, 'it's for the house' now, and therefore doesn't count.

I've seen the pics you post to Flickr; your Bride is totally gung-ho when it comes to the home remodeling projects! I bet she'd love a cordless DeWalt or Milwaukie power drill!Indiana Jeff wrote:Kind of like when I get my Bride a new drill for Christmas?
This Hi Power clone looks pretty sweet. I have been seriously thinking about getting a 1911 this coming spring or summer, but now there may be another option on that list.
