New TOD from Wested

Post by Kt Templar »

I haven't bought a jacket for a while, I think my last one was a Hero about 4-5 years ago.

The ToD I have was made right at the start of the NH run, everything as that was, nylon liner (that I hated) and washed goat because that was the closest match in colour and finish to the NH jacket. Never really got on with the goat, I don't like how it's a bit rubbery, tarpauliny even.

So, decided finally to get a new one, no mods, just how it comes - but shortened to fit my stumpy frame. Washed lamb.

I found a batch of 2 pin buckles, they are a quite distinctively blue but they'll do. (Wested can put these on if you want they have a little stash of them now, if you ask for them).

Well done Mick and Sally, very nice jacket.

That's a real beauty. If I were going to get a ToD I would get a Wested.

Please can you tell me if you have the right side-vents on your jacket, because Wested forget/modified them on two of my last TOD bough few years ago when they decided to release this jacket again..

Yes, that's the one error, I noticed that this morning. That must be something that's not marked on the patterns. I've sent Mick correct photos, it might be worth reminding them when ordering. I'm leaving it as it is.

Didn’t they say they refuse to do the screen accurate vent configuration?

Great looking jacket. I've really gone back onto wearing my wested ToD. It's more of a head turner of a jacket, partly due to the more tailored fit. Tempted to get another now that they are offering OTR versions. Might get one and distress the bejesus out of it.

It's a very 'marmite' kind of leather, but if that's the look you want/like, then they have nailed it.

Wear it in good health! :TOH:

That's a nice looking leather - would look pretty good for a Raiders jacket. Does it usually look like that??

Yes it does .. KT's is without the warm water treatment .. my TOD is with it. it slightly pops the grain of the leather ..
I have a Raiders (not Hero) custom in exactly the same leather and its awesome too ... the Washed lamb is by far in a way the best skin they've offered and its usually the darkest as well which helps a lot it think. It also has a far nicer under colour than the others so where you distress it it looks great

I really like the look of that washed lamb! I was wondering how you think it will hold up? I had a washed lamb jacket from Wested a few years ago that was pretty fragile.

I have a new washed lamb from about maybe 4 months ago. It doesn't feel flimsy or anything at all. It's actually quite comfortable, too, so, I really like wearing it. It also has the perfect drape. I'm not crazy about all the creases, but I really love the leather. It is really, really nice to touch.

Very nice looking jackets, guys! How does the texture of the washed lamb differ from that of the shrunken lamb?

That's great to hear! I sense one if these in my future!
