Ordering Advice for a Wested Custom Raiders Jacket

I am looking to order a Wested Custom Raiders Jacket in washed lamb. I have the Standard Raiders in lamb and like the fit but need a smaller size. I was hoping to get the best of both worlds with a good fit and features from the on the screen jacket.

I am thinking about adding the following requests to make it “more” accurate including the scalloped hero pockets, gussets, buckle and x box stitch. So a few questions...

1. Are all these additions used on the screen jacket? If not, which ones are not? I will remove the ones that are not.
2. Are there any downsides to adding these?
3. Do the gussets change the fit? I thought I read that some thought it made it more baggy? I don’t want a baggy fit.

My advice is save yourself a lot of trouble and contact Steele and Jones. I don't own one, but everything I've seen here looks great. You will get a screen accurate jacket without all the fuss making custom requests from Wested. Just my two cents.

Does anyone know if the gussets make the fit more baggy? Were they included in the original Raiders jacket?

I know it's not perfectly screen accurate but I thought the whole point of the Wested Raiders Hero was so you didn't HAVE to make custom requests to the standard Raiders jacket offered by Wested.

Sure, custom size but not necessarily adding overall design features. The standard Raider's is not screen accurate, but the Raiders Hero is pretty close for most folks.

(and Yes, Steele and Jones or even a Magnoli custom or White Label depending on budget)

Yeah, I concur with everyone else that Steel & Jones is your best bet. Wested Hero will do in a pinch.

Wested Hero in Authentic Brown Lambskin: $273 + S&H
Wested Hero in Shrunken Lambskin: $319 + S&H
S&J Lambtouch Cowhide (cowhide made to replicate the texture & drape of lambskin): $370 + S&H

That extra less-than-$100 buys you a lot of quality.

Just remember the S&J cannot be returned if there do happen to be any issues .. i had a lining in my ToD that didn’t fit well at all, but Argentina customs means nothing can go back once shipped out. it can to Magnolli, Wested and others for repair, alteration or adjustment ..That said S&J make a fine looking jacket.

I switched back to Wested on my latest ToD and Raiders mostly because the hide at the time although it looked the part 100% just doesn’t have the feel and drape of Lambskin ..
