My new journal by Wested (kinda)

Post by Kentucky Blues »

Okay, so as far as I know, Wested hasn’t gotten into the journal making business so I haven’t actually bought one from them. I have, however, purchased a journal online that was practically BEGGING to be rebound, and I had a 15+ year old Wested in more or less unwearable condition (lot of tears, half the collar chewed off by a rat). So I got to work! I figured if an Indy jacket can no longer be worn on my back through my adventures, then wrapping it around the journal I chronicle them in is a fitting life for it. Anyway, here’s the pics!

Here’s the jacket before the operation:

And here’s the journal:

Here it is open. The hat may be garbage, but the tags that came with the dorfmans is beautiful and makes a great bookmark:

And here are other pics:

Thank you! It’s not as good as something from Magnoli, I’m sure, but it’s I’m 90-95% happy with how it turned out.

Jeff, I wish it were an exciting story. Truth is, I had a pet rat at one point and laid the jacket too close to the cage ](*,)

Nope, but if I post pictures of my now backless jacket, I can share the boring story of how I didn’t actually get dragged behind a truck

Something we have in common with HF, then. I believe he enjoyed the sewer scene in LC-- just like old times.
Lovely pets, rats-- clean, intelligent and affectionate. OTOH, my golden retriever once ate a leather-bound journal. #-o
Apparently leather is one of the basic food groups for pets, and everything smells like a chew toy.

I a few of those 'buried' in my collection. That was the same label they put on jackets sold at J. C. Penney's 'back in the day'.

Did any of those jackets look more or less like Indy’s? I have an officially licensed jacket that I got second hand and I’ve never fully identified it...

They were essentially 'G-2' style flight jackets with faux fur collars and snap pockets. :?
